[2009] why ayu gave up CREA ?

She already stated that twice in interviews. first time was in Time magazine. She said she started composing because she felt the melodies her staff made to her didn't resemble what she wanted to express through music. So... She realized back then that if she composed herself the results were quicker and closer to what she had in mind. That was in the I AM period. If you look at the credits you'll see most of the compositions are Crea's.

In her second interview (During Secret's period), she said that she used to do a lot of things by herself (including composing) because she felt responsible of making always good results ad didn't want to put responsabilities (or the blame, depending on how you wanna put it) on someone else for the good ( or bad) results. She said that, eventually she found experts in each field and she started to give responsabilities to other people. (composing included).

I miss Crea, honestly, i hope she evetually returns to composing because she does have talent

I think it's probably more of a matter that she either simply doesn't feel the need to (or is lazy ) or they're just not meeting up to what she wants. Other versions could be much better in her opinion

I read this post from a really famous author that as romantic as the idea of writing from sheer inspiration, many times it is work (aka writing because it's work and not necessarily because there's major inspiration) and that's why people get degrees and such to become a writer. Which I think applies to the case here.

I agree. Michael Jackson stated that composing requires a lot of work and time to achieve what you're looking for. You need hours to find a good melody and correct arrangement

I really miss CREA......was so happy when ayu talked about her composition earlier this year...but it didn't make it to NEXT LEVEL. I really hope it will pop up again some day...hopefully in the next album. PLEASE~!

Its because Ayu was never a composer. Never was, and never will be. She's a songwriter, but I don't think she felt comfortable composing melodies. She tried it, and had mostly good results, but I think she's more comfortable adding lyrics to melodies already created.

I don't think Ayu would have been able to come up with the melodies for some of her best songs over the last few years.

I just believe she hasn't much time...she became a sort of business woman and i suffer when i think she gave up the dream to compose herself the songs completely.

Ayu doesn't really have any composition skill, it's not surprising she doesn't compose nearly as much as she use to. But I don't think she completely given up, didn't she mention she wrote a song for NEXT LEVEL but it just wasn't selected? Who knows, maybe a CREA composition will sneak up on us one day. But I wouldn't get too excited, her stuff can be a hit or miss.

i remember in a recent interview or in one of her blog entries, she stated something like, oh no time for CREA anymore but she wishes she could. but i do wish she'd bring CREA back... it was those songs that were her greatest.
i guess she feels she doesn't need CREA now. and plus, she has found a comfortable self to present through her music now and doesn't need that dependency on CREA as she seems more confident and at peace with herself. *shrugs* just my theory

She really does. That sounds about right.

I just wish she will compose again, she could do very good quality songs, much better than ALL the crap she gave us past years .... what a shame she stop to compose to make us listen to crap instead.

Oh well since that now she uses same melody for different songs, now maybe we will get just intru songs and nothing more lol ah and yeah the fish mouth or junky eyes .....

So yeah, hope she will compose again, from all her songs, her own music is the one I prefer.

yep...maybe the songs she selects now suit more her being.
Or maybe now she feels more connected to the songs her team purpose her.

Honestly, i might be boring, but I miss the old Ayu.
now it's all glittering, all perfect, all happy...I'm glad she found an equilibrium but I miss her "girl nextdoor" touchy feelings so much.

This is possible, but I think avex have little control over general content of her music.

Anyways she must not have the time for it, haha, she's getting older-less energetic each day. I wouldn't be surprised if she dropped CREA all together lately, mainly because CREA type of music isn't this age when electro-pop is all it's at.
