Memorial address and teddy bear are the only ones that come to mind readily <3 And A Song for xx, but I gotta think hard to name others then those three. It's hard because all her songs have amazing points, and some of them have low points, so it's really hard to pick favorites <3

I never get bored with only these 3 songs which are NEXT LEVEL mirrorcle world and M. they are so special for me.I like the happy tune in NL and M is just like a masterpiece.
Mirrorcle world is so addictive and very misterious song. If interlude included I have to say Bridge to the sky, Introduction, and mirror are the interludes I never skipped

A song for XX
I heard Ayu wrote her lyrics in base of her feelings. We felt the same at some point. evolution Tho I don't absolutely love the rhythm, the lyrics always touched me. I was born in this kind of world, I was born in this century, and I'm able to know about Ayu. Memorial Address And another touching lyrics, I love the whole song.

There is too much. TOO MUCH... And they like to change. I love that woman's music so damn much. I'll try to post only those which have always been my favorites:
forgiveness - it's something touching, but also peaceful and harmonizing in this song... Everything here is just perfect - arrangement, lyrics (simple and beautiful), Ayu's voice... I'm never tired of this song. Duty - incredible atmosphere which any other Ayu's song doesn't have IMO. Composition and lyrics - A+ End of the World - I love how both arrangement and Ayu's voice is dramatic here. I've always wanted it to have its own PV T^T Don't look back and Sexy little things: The most unique Ayu's song ever! There are no words to describe how perfect they are. untitled ~for her~ - man, it grown in me so much... That song is just beautiful. WHATEVER (LOVEppears ver.), Real me, rollin' and LOVE'n'HATE: my favorites in terms of catchiness. I've had them on repeat many times. rainy day - Ayu's voice here is ![]() SURREAL - one of my first crushes and one of her best lyrics NEVER EVER, Microhpone and Rule: probably my fav rock songs of hers? Probably. And Rule remix is the best ever. GAME and HAPPY ENDING (MY STORY Classical versions): I thought it's impossible to make them better than original versions, which are absolutely great... I was wrong. evolution - the best from Ayu's classics. A Song for ×× ''030213 Session #2'' - the only version of that song I love. And it's already epic. from my letter - I don't know, I have such a sentiment to it! Very relaxing and soothing, makes me calm ( ![]() Trust - Her voice is so appealing to me, in both ASfxx and A BEST versions! TO BE and walking proud: have a special meaning to me. LOVE ~Destiny~ and Dolls My hidden jems, simply wonderful <3 Deserve much more love! talkin' 2 myself - that song just kicks asses. ![]() fated - my all-time favorite rock ballad from Ayu! Free & Easy - a bit of my love for it has gone but I still love it GREEN - my favorite oriental song from her, has a peaceful and romantic feeling. AUDIENCE - I love its energy!

There are tons of favorites, I can say that. I won't promise to have explanations for all of these, but I'll try my best. I think I'll try to do the list in chronological order.
![]() fairyland - The fourth Ayu song I ever heard (Because of you, is this LOVE? and evolution were the first ones) and the first one I really, truly, fell in love with. The exotic, summer-y and nostalgic sound was an instant hit for me and I also really liked what I could understand from the lyrics (my English wasn't at its best back then). I did really love Because of you too, but over the time it has dulled for me while the love for fairyland still remains. Dearest: Random download brought Dearest to me and am I glad it did. I didn't need to read the lyrics to know this song was overflowing with emotion and I just got addicted to the song, even though it was "nothing special". A beautiful, beautiful song that can still make me tear up. HEAVEN and Moments: These two deepend my Ayu-fandom greatly. I got hooked on the first listen, and, what I really love about these two, I heard the emotions in these songs so clearly and it hit me like a ton of bricks, as they say. Nowadays I love HEAVEN even more, but both remain strong favorites. NEXT LEVEL: NEXT LEVEL was actually the first Ayu-album I heard in its entirety and the titular song was my initial favorite. I seem to have a thing for these calm, breezy, summer-y songs because I loved it back then like whoa and still do. I love the chorus especially and the instrumentation is just beautiful. Sparkle: Do I need to explain why I love Sparkle? It's weird, it's addictive, it's great. The only other early favorite from NEXT LEVEL. winding road: I must be really weird because this was the only song that initially stuck on me when listening to MY STORY (Moments doesn't count sssssh). ![]() ![]() Memorial address: I'm completely unable to recall which album came after MY STORY, but I'm pretty sure Memorial address was my next target of affection. It crept slowly into my life: at first I couldn't ever remember the song's name, just little snippets of the melody, then one day I looked up the lyrics while listening to it and BANG! tears were flowing and love begun. This is clearly one of Ayu's most emotional songs and I just love it to death. If I had to pick one song as my all-time favorite, it might just be this one. A Song for XX: Watching the a-nation 2008 performance made me realize what an epic song this is. I was just "okay whatever I guess I like this" when listening to the original and A BEST versions, but then I got the A BALLADS version in my dirty little hands and did I love it. I still love this wonderful song to death (I think I'm starting to repeat myself). NEVER EVER: Another song that won me over with a live performance. I had overlooked NEVER EVER before (along with most of the whole I am... -album), but seeing Ayu singing her heart out to it made me fall in love. The high-pitched verses are a bit weird (and a torture to sing grrrr damn my lack of vocal range) but the chorus is just pure win and Ayu's vocals just nail it. Real me: I just loved this oddball of a song from the first listen. Addictive verses, nice beat and awesome arrangement won me over in a heartbeat. To be honest though, I didn't even realize she sang some English parts until reading the lyrics. ![]() rainy day: An initial favorite from (miss)understood. Excellent arrangement, a great compositions, heartbreaking vocals and lyrics, what is there not to love? ![]() appears: Another song that doesn't seem to get much love, I loved appears from the very beginning. Many people say she sounds bored and monotonous and lifeless in this song but I think she sounds emotional and beautiful. I really love the lyrics and the arrangement, my God, the arrangement, I get goosebumps every time I hear the intro. Such a beautiful song. Fly high: After listening to A Song for XX and not really diggin' it, I thought LOVEppears would be a similar disappointment. Fly high changed my mind right from the beginning. The chorus is unbelievably beautiful and I just love those catchy rap parts. A great song indeed (I'm REALLY starting to sound repetitive now). SURREAL: SURREAL was one of the many songs I completely overlooked at first listen, but later it grew on me hugely. The piano intro is divinely beautiful, and I love the unusual composition (I tend to like songs where the chorus doesn't come in right after the verse(s)), Ayu's vocals and all that jazz. One of her best songs, no doubt. End roll: I didn't even know Ayu had a song called End roll until this summer when one summer night, I was sitting in a train with my mp3-player on shuffle. Then End roll came up and almost made me burst into tears. I regret having ever overlooked such a beautiful song. M Who... fated until that Day... SCAR Bold&Delicious GREEN untitled ~for her~ Last Links RED LINE ~for TA~ Dolls MOON OKAY I THINK I'LL STOP HERE. I just couldn't write any comments on the rest of the songs, I think this post has gone to novel lenghts without those. But let it be known that I love all of those songs and more. Kudos and cookies to you if you had the energy to read through my extensive list. Last edited by Kacku; 27th August 2010 at 08:12 PM. Reason: M HOW COULD I FORGET TO PUT M ON THAT LIST |

Can also play the song on the piano + singing (however my voice is... uurgh, sounds like I'm dieing or something) Marionette GUILTY When I saw/heard this PV/song I was like: Hell yeah! And Then (LOVEppears)
Never gets boring. The rhythm is amazing, just the whole build-up of the song is fantastic. The lyrics are quite nice too. I just love it. A Song for XX "MILLENNIUM MIX" (LOVEppears, disc 2) The lyrics are heartbreaking. I feel like what Ayu says here, so many times. I like the original version too, just this mix has more piano in it and it's more beautiful. LOVE~refrain~ (LOVEppears) Makes you feel like floating in a dreamyland. SCAR (Duty) Strong, emotional, beautiful. Just amazing. Who... (A BEST) Beautiful, the best ending song for a concert. Beautiful lyrics. Naturally (I am...) Comparable to And Then, it's just perfect. still alone (I am...) Moody. Close to you (RAINBOW) My favourite ballad of Ayu. The song is splendid. The music is soft and the words are beautiful. Over (RAINBOW) What a sad and emotional and strong song..... T^T it's beautiful, too. Liar (MY STORY) This song is definitely underrated. The mood is just perfect and the bridge is the best part in the song ![]() rainy day ((miss)understood) Perfect for a rainy day. Sublime vocals and nice lyrics. It was (Secret) Again moody and again underrated!! I still think this song should've been on (m)u. HANABI~episode II~ (A BEST II -BLACK-) Look at my sig ![]() Days (NEXT LEVEL) I generally like Ayu's older stuff better, so I guess this is the 'newest' Ayu song that I love. PV is adorable and the lyrics are super sweet. is this LOVE? "Original Mix" (STEP you/is this LOVE?) Always loved it. Dramatic and sincere. I like the original version better because they changed the drums in the album version. They're stronger here. Great PV too, one of my faves. Daybreak "HAL's Mix 2002" (Daybreak) Most underrated song ever, just because the PV was bland doesn't mean the song is. It's actually very relaxed and beautiful. Instrumental track is one of my faves too.

Don't look back
The lyrics in this song are some of Ayu's best, so heartfelt and real. I love that and I can relate to them. I adore the music too and especially that oriental feel it has to it. ourselves One of the first songs I ever heard from Ayumi, and I was addicted to it the very fist time and I still am. I love the eerieness of the music, and the PV that accompanies it too. JEWEL Such a simple yet beautiful song. Its so strong and all it relies on is the notes of a piano. The lyrics truly are beautiful and its one of the few songs that can bring me to tears. (don't) leave me alone Its the stomping beats in this that really captivate me. So infectious! I must have listened to this song thousands of times and I still never tire of it. Love the lyrics too. Free & Easy This song has to be one of the best musical compositions I've ever heard. The juxstaposition of the soft and serene verses with the stomping, dance like choruses really suprised me! An amazing song. Duty Its the best title track she's ever done. The lyrics really are beautiful and the music so haunting and true. This song holds a special meaning to me and I really do adore it. STEP you This song has to be mentioned. It was the very first Ayumi song that I heard, and instantly I fell in love with Ayu. I love how poppy and dancey this song is and its still as addicting as the first time I heard it. There is something so creative and iconic about the PV too which just always amazes me. |

Practically every single song on the I am.. album. Those songs are very unique in the way they were constructed. Especially still alone, which is my favorite Ayu song.
