Sorry, but I really dislike Kuu xD
Still, I do think Ayu fans take her too seriously sometimes (the same goes for Utada and Namie fans xD)

Oh yes to everything said here!

and I agree with jbrat2219 on pretty much everything

Not every PV needs to be like ourselves with concepts/meanings/plots that are as obvious as they are they. It can just be a beautiful PV like MOON that it simple but can also be seen as meaningful. The ink covering part was not typically beautiful but can create emotions and visually interesting parts.

yeah...greatful days is a lot of fun though! although, i guess someone could say that angel's song is as well.

i remember when it came out being very disappointed that ayumi wasn't in it more and at how silly it was. i love fun videos and all, but its a little too silly for me i guess.

at least greatful days had that alligator and ayumi's big poofy hair to save it.

i belive 90% of us fans are affected by this disease i'm sure..we have seen too many PV, our expectations are too high and it's quite impossible to feel completely satisfied.

ANGEL'S SONG is cute though. Robbers come in, Ayu turns into a werewolf, she stops the robbers and then turns back and gets her money... So it makes absolutely no sense, but it's still cute.

I was about to go into a long winded paragraph but you managed to sum up my thoughts exactly in two sentences. lol

While I agree that the budgets are higher and the PV's look "slicker" the amount of crap between the awesome PV's have widen. Yeah, they're better than the "early" years... actually, while there were a few gems beforehand, her videos (visually and conceptually) didn't really get great (or even good) until RAINBOW if you ask me. From that album onwards, crap was very few and far in between up until GUILTY. (don't) leave me alone was admittedly a pretty crappy PV though I happen to love it (cause Ayu just looks so gorgeous and fierce throughout) and I just didn't care for glitter/fated/decision at all. So I'd say that era is when a "decline" started for me as since then, a pattern of 2 outstanding PVs per album has been occurring (talkin 2 myself/Marionette, GREEN/Rule, DLB/BALLAD). Again (like in last month's 'decline' thread lol), it just one of those cases of an artist setting a high bar for herself and then when she 'reverts' or settles for just being good, it gets felt by some fans.

Also, the "u r stating ur opinion as tru fax!!11!" arguments have grown absolutely redundant and are now little more than mere excuses to try to disprove a person's views. Let it be known that all opinions are stated as fact because they are in fact your opinions. And when a person uses "I" when stating that opinion (as the OP did) it can be assumed they are ONLY speaking of themselves and when they ask "what do you think?" they are asking for yours which they assume will probably be different from theirs because again, they were initially NOT speaking for everybody. Like seriously, it isn't rocket science just basic understanding of human language. And yes, I'm speaking in general and to some of the people in this thread.

Have you ever showed Ayu pv to someone? Im obsessed with Ayu and I show people everything, and even with MOON pv with some of you find boring of whatever people are like 'OOOH I WISH BRITNEY COULD DO SOME OF THAT'. What Ayu delivers is really above average what njanja said.

^As huge Britney stan, I can honestly say I wish she wouldn't do something like MOON. Part of the reason I love her is for her old dance videos which she hasn't been doing much of these days, sadly. But that's another subject altogether.

But yeah, I show my friend Ayu's videos all the time stuff like BALLAD, part of Me, and momentum (because she loves that type of stuff) and 9 times out of 10 she's very impressed with them and ends up watching them again and again.

Basically (its definitely not the ones I love lol) I mean I don't hate em. But some of them are kinda bad. But basically I find them her worst pvs. So yeah. Its nice someone agrees lol.

This is reminding me of in 2003/2004 when people would say that Ayu has taken a large decline to people and that she is probably close to retiring because she'd gotten so bad at -insert aspect of her career here- or in general "lately" (at the time).

Perhaps each wave of fans just has to get this off their chests once or twice during their fandom?

lol, i think it's a fact that her pv's are recently boring. even ballad and you were was gorgeous, but they WERE boring in fact. Even Microphone. The ones that have made attractive to my eye was SLT. It was something new. The rest was pretty but boring. From Next Level till now. (GUILTY had Together when and Marionette effect of puppet <3 Ayu in the mud and glitter/fated - i dont like this pv but i can't tell it's not interesting.)

/and Sparkle, btw, was gorgeous. but it's just my fetish or sth. taste argue/ XD

I felt like this during the release of all of her MY STORY PVs after moments. However, then she released STEP you, is this LOVE, and alterna, and it was all again.

If we're going all the way back to GUILTY, I say Marionette was epic <3 Edit: Oops, forgot Together When...! Also epic <3 And in NEXT LEVEL...well, Days was cute...and Curtain call was pretty... and R'n'RC was cool, DLB was perfect, Microphone was full of symbolism and Ayu looked fierce, same with SLT, Yw... was full of symbolism, BALLAD was gorgeous and symbolic, MOON was full of symbolism and Ayu looked gorgeous (imo it wasn't boring XD), crossroad seems cool from what we have...

Imo, she hasn't really had a period of amazing-amazing-amazing-amazing PV's right after another~ She has a few amazing PV's here and there, some good ones sprinkled around, and some downright bad ones thrown in there~ I don't think there's an actual period of decline or amazingness (except for (m)u's PV's, but don't get me started on that ). (^_^)

I think they're ok! There are usually some PVs that I don't like, but then she does make amazing PVs too!

Some of her past PVs were amazing, but some of her current ones is epic as well! Take Don't look back for example...there's a message behind it

I still think in fact they are VERY ok. But they are just ok. She only shocked me on Sparkle. I have had big saliva session. (jeez, im so stupid and sick) I was like wow, and went to heaven. It was only one time I ever thought "damn, she can be sexy if she just try"

All recently pv's (BALLAD, You were..., DLB, Moon, Microphone, SLT) have the messege but they felt incomplete in some reason. Only S/S single have the most boring pv's ever but i still like them, they are pretty made and she is adorable in it. Same with Lady Dynamite, but in there the atmosphere was cool, and it was that Humming style. Fun, glitter and lashes.

Tbh I think her PVs are still the best compared to most PVs of other japanese pop singers.
They're boring/awful/whattheheck.. sometimes but they're few luckily. Most of her PVs are pretty good and well made.

Friends of mine who knows and likes japanese music but not fans of Ayu, find her PVs really interesting.
Even a friend of mine who dislike her except for JEWEL and Sunrise (she's a huge kpop fan) finds her PVs good

It's constantly repeating and it's getting kind of old if you're seeing it happen every few years. Not only for PVs but also for her music, lyrics, looks, photoshoots - these discussions always seem to show up once in while. It's a vicious cycle, really.
