Yes, she is fluent, as Tsuriko comments on the second last page: "It's been 7 years since then... The ayu who spoke in stunted English had now become someone who could converse with the foreign staff in fluent English, without the help of an interpretor, and that was only one of the changes she had undergone."

However, on the previous page with the lyrics, Tsuriko also writes that she's translating Tell All from Japanese to English: "The mood while waiting for the recording session to begin was unusually calm, as she translated the lyrics for "Tell All" into English with Timmy." The exact words from the booklet are "英訳", which means translating into English.

Hope this clears things up.

^^Yes it clears it up, the photo must be after half the process was done or something, because it shows it half written on a different sheet. Thanks.

She must be quite confident in her abilities and to be able to tap into her emotions like that and pen them under something other than Japanese is remarkable. Hikaru Utada grew up speaking both Japanese and English, so this method is understandable for her. It is still quite a shock that Ayu is able, and would choose, to do this.

lol don't make a big deal out of random stuff, man.... and i wonder how do u have all that time to read every single magazine article, to watch every video possible, to stalk every single account around net that has anything tiny bit to do with Ayu. cuz it is getting a bit creepy, i wouldn't be surprised if u knew what she ate for breakfast for a week or how much water she drinks over a day....

I wasn't meaning you Zeke, just mostly those who post new threads asking how much english she understands after years of her speaking fluently. I've met many japanese who don't understand me unless I purposely speak slowly. Ayumi however had no problem speaking with me and was asking me more questions as we spoke.

And it really doesn't take much to read every interview and see every video, there's not that much released. Some of you must get creeped out really easy. And I don't make a big deal of things as much as some people make a big deal out of me simply posting my opinion.

You don't "simply post" your opinion, you drive it into other people's brains even in the face of contradictory evidence that your "opinion" is completely wrong. That's what makes it creepy, not the reading everything.

I've read everything, watched everything, and looked at everything since I discovered Ayu 13 years ago. I have very little of a life outside of my Ayu fandom. I've meticulously worked on timelines of her life based on everything I've found, both translated and in the original Japanese. For 13 years. Straight.

So if even I think you're a little creepy, that's saying something. You just gotta learn when to back off and admit you might be wrong, okay?

Well in this case there was evidence on both sides unless you could read the text in japanese, which I couldn't. But this is only the 2nd time I've seen proof of being wrong. If you have read everything and watched everything, then you know I've been right all but those 2 times, because unlike most, I read alot and know what I'm talking about before posting. And I try to avoid threads on subjects where no one has any proof of anything like "How much money does Ayu make", because on those subjects, not a single AHS has a clue. And when I have to keep driving on a point, it's usually after I'm called a liar after a brief 1 or 2 sentence post, not on the 1st post which would have remained the last post if differing opinions were simply allowed to be posted on a subject without being attacked and alot of name calling that a few of us get every time we post. If a couple american girls 1/2 my age think I'm creepy for making longer posts in defense of my opinion when they say I'm lying, too bad, american girls 1/2 my age don't have experience at life or the maturity for me to care.

1) How old do you think I am? lol

2) If you provided proof (like how I did with my graphic above) EVER - a tweet, an article, a page in a book, SOMETHING - then maybe we'd take you more seriously.

1) Even if you're in your late 30s as I am, it makes no difference really.
2) Some of what I've been called a liar for were in late 90s interviews, which used to appear on a website that is no longer around, or I would have provided when asked. Other were from interviews translated by Misa Chan, or for all to see on Ayu's twitter, for which the links are already all over AHS. Others are my opinion and need no proof because they are an opinion.

^If you're gonna argue with the ayu encyclopedia (aka Deli), you better provide some actual proof. Otherwise, your argument is invalid.

I've seen many previous posts by people AHSers claim know it all, and none of them do. One reason being, you put too much faith in Ayu and her staff being honest with her fans and don't seem to compare notes between interviews to realize that every time her image is changed for an album, so are her answers to some key questions. She can be asked the same question in 5 consecutive interviews and if they are for a different image set for a different album you will get 5 different answers. You also all seem to go gaga over every "relationship", when the one thing she seems to have some honesty about consistently is her private life is private and she's never told the fans who she's with. Regardless of wether my opinion is correct or incorrect about who that is, it's still private.

Most of the time I enjoy your opinion that goes directly against the rest of AHS. I find it quite refreshing.

While I do think saigondansu might be crazier than putting Timmy in gay Sonic the Hedgehog outfits, I have to agree about the relationships seeming a bit... inauthentic.
