It's a bad time for most of phisical releases in general... At least it's not less than Koishikute... I wouldn't have been able to bear it otherwise. Ugh, this single is so nice and perfect for summer, why!

Im more interested in digital sales as thats really her market with the age of her fans. And shes still in the top 10, soo nothing to worry about. ^^

The sales are terrible
![]() Is it Kuu? Or the single? Or Japan? The sales are bad. So bad. Her flop one track singles used to sell +30k in first week, but a summer single sells 19k? Yeah that's shocking. I really didnt expect it at all. GTTT sold +20k in first day so this is depressing.... |

^Exactly.
![]() I think through the years as digital has progressed (and due to the earthquake) the amount of physical sales that is considered for 'gold' or 'platinum' (and sales in general) has gone down, hasn't it? I think the number is lower than before. I mean, 19k for first week of a single a few years ago would mean you were out of the top 10, let alone #6. If you think about it, JAPONESQUE was still a #1 album despite being her lowest physical selling album since Affection! 'Feel My Mind' sold just more than JAPONESQUE at 154k and so did 'Grow Into One' with 200k, yet they were only #7 & #8 on the charts back then. I think its because nowadays people use digital means to buy music much more than back then, especially through Itunes. However because Oricon's sales has always been the deciding factor on how well a single or album is doing, people still look to Oricon for that, even though digital is now just as big of a factor (if not maybe more) of sales nowadays. I'm not sure if Oricon includes digital sales, but I'd be interested to see how well kuu does with itunes sales, to be honest. And despite Japan, South Korean sales are even lower physically, 4minute being a perfect example. With their newest album, 'Name is 4Minute', their album was at #2 with less than 15k of physical sales, YET their digital single of 'What's your name?' which was the title track for the album, sold 1.6 million! Which is an insane comparison. Even that is much lower than their first single 'Hot Issue' at 4 million, but despite selling more was only #3 at the time, and 'Whats your name?' selling less than half of that is at #1 now. It's no wonder Korean artists tend to sell more digital singles these days, cause they do 10x better. Not long after that, 4minute released another digital single 'Is It Poppin?' which made 1.5 million. When I first saw it, I thought "Another single so soon? Why didn't they just put it on the album?". Now I know why. xD That's my theory, anyway. xD

You're absolutely right. And let's not forget more often than not people don't buy digitally, they just download for free. I should know, since I'm the first one doing it, lol, even if I try to purchase as much cds as I can. But I'm not very wealthy, and download it's too easy to resist. It's not only an asian situation, it's a worldwide one. Everyone selling is going downhill, some more than others, but still. |

^Awesome
![]() I wish there was a way to see the overall digital sales number like with Oricon? It's a shame that Oricon is the only one that assigns singles & albums a chart & sales number...there should be a digital Oricon, too, considering the amount of music that is bought digitally now, and downloaded. Unless there is one I don't know about?

I still havent even listened to the full single yet.
![]() I really dont know why I keep putting it off either. Lately I've been addicted to Namie's FEEL album and just everything from Crystal Kay, so its like I don't wanna leave this little music theme park I'm stuck in. lol Also about ST, Kuu's honestly been making her singles less appealing lately. Not so much in the new songs, but more so in bonus content. Like sukide didnt even have instrumental tracks... ST only has those interludes n theres no bonus of any kind unless ur a playroom member n get the poster. However its true physical sales in general have gone down a lot due to the change in the times, economy AND DEFINITELY TECHNOLOGY. We're all using ipods, mp3 players etc for music these days. I think this is also the reason (bit off topic) that Ayu's stopped releasing physical singles as well. Last edited by ILoveGeniuses; 7th August 2013 at 09:34 PM. |

I love that photo of Seungri
![]() I honestly think they've stopped Ayu releasing singles so it doesn't break her career long #1 singes record (isn't she the highest holder of #1 singles in Japan or something?) as shes in danger of not getting a #1 single the next time she releases one. Which is why they seem to be releasing mini albums with only 3 actual new songs and just made into mini albums by using a load of remixes and the instrumentals of the 3 songs to bring it to 12 tracks or whatever. xD But yeah, that's off topic. xD I'm actually excited for kuu's next ballad. As long as its not another Ai so tomato or koishitithinkwe'veheardthisalready. Although, I did really like the CDTV live of Koshikute with just the soft piano, and her voice was amazing and husky.

I want the ballads from Feel My Mind. Those are my favorite songs in all of Kuu's discography (and I generally hate ballads). The lyrics to Hana are amazing. Some of her best and most touching because it could be applied to so many situations. And people think Kuu isn't deep.
