I just got Rock 'n Roll circus today. I'm so glad I was able to get the cover I liked. ^_^ I didn't even realize it would come with the DVD...So...Yay!

I love the PVs to Sexy Little Things, You Were..., and Don't Look Back so I'm pleased.

Edit: Also... My nighstand's drawer is running out of space for my CDs....Now that I'm finally catching up on all of my Ayumi music AND collecting Girugamesh, I need to find some new places to put my stuff. XD

What a gorgeous display! I love the framed pictures the most. ^_^

I just got Duty in the mail last night. I'm so happy. >.<

I think Duty makes me really nostalgic because it has a similar theme to it as GUILTY (IMO, at least) with the covers and the rather dark feeling of the whole album. GUILTY was my first CD to buy of hers, so I guess that's why buying Duty feels nostalgic.

Years ago, Duty was my absolute favorite album tied with GUILTY. I have a strong feeling that I may end up listening to it a TON.

Duty was the first album that I got to see the release of, that was the first "new" ayu album I got to experience the lead-up for.

Oh man, getting the album on napster FINALLY and getting to hear the full version of "End of the World" after seeing it in the Tu-Ka CM was just... the BEST.

That's really cool. Then you go back pretty far as an Ayu fan!

Apparently, I must not be the only one who finds Duty and GUILTY to be similar, because every time I look up Duty on google, I got either a lyric page for GUILTY or a wikipedia article for it. XD

One of the reasons I look up CDs I get (especially older ones) is because I want to know all the details about it. I find that it makes listening to a CD even more impactful if I understand the background info.

Agreed on all counts.

Yeah, I've been a fan for a very long time. Even when she's not perfect, she's the closest thing I've found to what I want - or need, emotionally, or hope for - in a pop artist. Sometimes you find an artist that just seems to "get" you, and Ayu is it for me. I get frustrated with her at times because she steers away from what I consider to be her fundamental appeal for me, but even then, no one even comes close to what I want to be hearing and seeing, and her track record on the whole is very, very solid. She's still who I want to listen to more than anyone else at any given moment.

The leopard print, to me, seems to come about whenever ayu FEELS vulnerable, or is allowing herself to be very vulnerable & personal in her music. She needs to get her feelings out, but she's not 100% comfortable with doing it, so the cat fur is something representative of strength and grace and power that she can wrap herself up in. Which explains the use during Party Queen also.

And I definitely agree with you on knowing more background info! Similar to how knowing Ayu's lyrics makes her work so much better, knowing the circumstances behind the making of any album makes it hit a bit harder.
