This song is not ai otsuka-ish one bit. It is ayuish. Making a cute song doesn't make it ai otsukaish plus ayu had cute songs even far before ai otsuka even existed as an artist (teddy bear, NEVER EVER). Plus the bridge is full of emotion and is characteristic of ayumi, I haven't heard bridges like those in ai otsuka's ballads yet.

I agree with you. Nonetheless the backing vocalists do remind me a bit of "Planetarium" giving it a similar atmosphere.

^yep the back vocals reminds me of PLANETARIUM but as much as it reminds of her actual song RAINBOW, which came earlier.

You are right indeed. I suppose the etheral sounding backing vocals are back in fashion lately :p

Yes indeed. It has become a trend as of late but I admit I really do enjoy it. It does create this ethereal effect which is really pleasant and relaxing.

Me <3 this song. It reminds me of Rainbow, close to you, and teddy bear. I feel a slight reminescence of her earlier days.

So much emotions in her song.

I love it. "rainy day" is cute, charming, sweet, sad, and beautiful. Such a beautiful ballad and her voice? I'm amazed! Her vocals are amazing. Simply beautiful. 9/10 for this song!

I don't really get what you guys mean when you say that it's "repetitive" at all.

Sad!! I didn't believe that the song would make me feel this way, but the PV did.

The first song I thought of when I heard rainy day was kingyo hanabi. I do think it gives the feel of many otsuka ballads, and I could picture ai singing rainy day. Except for the bridge like you mentioned.

It doesn't really sound like kingyo hanabi to me and it doesn't even slightly reminds me of kingyo hanabi when I listen to it (KH sounds so traditional japanesey, rainy day sounds lullabish).....maybe PLANETARIUM, because of the ethereal vocals as mentioned previously, though it would just be that since the songs are nothing alike. The song actually reminded of some old ayu songs much more than any of otsuka's ballads The clock tick reminds me of Dolls, the back vocals RAINBOW, the cuteness either from teddy bear or the verses of NEVER EVER. When I listened to the song first time I had a feeling I had heard some elements before from another ayu song, not an ai otsuka song LOL

wow so far, the responses have really suprised me.

i was actualy pleasantly suprised, as i don't have the highest expectations from ayu lately. i heard the full version before i heard the preview, so i can't compare, but i like the repetitiveness some people have complained about. songs with no consistency tend to be less memorable imo, ex. Heaven.

this song kind of reminds me of 'no way to say'..beautiful song, wtf pv.

Wow. This song is actually really growing on me.

The PV, I don't like. So boring.

This song, I'm falling in love with. It has a simple arrangement and structure, but it's so powerful.

Drat. This may be the song to cause me to buy the album CD+DVD OS...

I liked the song.

I have to admit, that after hearing the "rainy day preview" I did expect more from this song, but it still isn't a disappointment. IMHO, It's a beautiful song and definitely one of the best ones she has made this year (but I also think that this year hasn't been the best "Ayu year". I understand she has to try new things, but I don't like her new style).

I just can't listen to this song too often, because I'll easily get bored. But otherwise it's very good! Now I just can't wait to get her new album.

another great ballad. her voice sounds really good, and the song itself is so soothing, a perfect closing for the album, almost sounds like a lullaby, i love it, and i don't wanna compare this to HEAVEN, because IMO both are great.
