^ Anna is totally Jrock. She may have some mainstream songs but she has this tough, harder edge to her. She reminds me of a more edgy and raw version of OLIVIA (Lufkin), who can have harder songs but she comes across as so vulnerable and soft most of the time.

OLIVIA's a great Jrock/Jrock-pop artist, too. I highly recommend her TRAPNEST and Lost Lolli albums.

Yum!Fruit Salad!: I'd totally pre-order it, too. Hell, I'd get ten copies XD

Karen: Jrock is relatively big here. It's not mainstream in terms of getting a lot of radioplay or TV time, but it IS known on certain niches of media--some radio stations that cater to rock/metal sounds will play Dir en grey for instance. A lot of the appeal lies in the Japanese-interested sub-culture, dominated by anime or video game fans. Most Jrock bands come here to play at anime conventions, for instance. Very rarely will they branch off and do their own tours or tours with western bands (MUCC, D'espa, Diru.. I think others have been here but I can't recall~)

jbrat: I'm sorry! I didn't mean to =O! But I can totally understand how you feel. WE NEED MOAR, I SAY. MOARRR.

Jackie: I've been waiting for Moi dix Mois to come out with other stuff, too... I really hope they don't just kinda fall off into obscurity =/ They're too good for that.

Canada's gotten a handful of Jrock bands here and there's a fairly good sized following, but probably considerably less than the US. But, due to my closeness to the US, I'm not that concerned with Jrock in Canada

Hmmm... what's everyone's favourite Jrock release been so far this year?

Anna's awesome . My younger sister actually recommended to me OLIVIA in the early steps of my jpop music journey as she watched the anime NANA where a little pain & WISH were used for promo

for some reason/s back then , she wasn't into Anna's music but now she's after I converted her xD xD & she did that to me for OLIVIA's case too

I do hope that Anna has not entirely ditched her rock roots . She has been experimenting quite a lot from BUBBLE TRIP / sweet sweet song onwards which's nice & NUDY SHOW ! really took me by surprise & I'm glad that it's not a straight rock affair just like strip me ?

Moi dix Mois kind of scares me to be honest, no offense fans

I can't really say I hate their music because I was too put off by their image to even bother listening... but I recall hearing one song, and that opera+metal sound doesn't interest me much. That's why I was thrilled with Gackt left Malice Mizer.

Hahahahaa!!! I love their unique music style tbh but apart from Gackt and Mana I'm not really fond of any of the band members in particular because they look really creepy.

I just remembered on Ayu's show she sang with some rock legends like Kiyoharu (sp?) but any hardcore ones?

Oh yes yes, Masquerade *_*

Kiyoharu is a friend of Ruki, he appreciates very much Kiyoharu.

I like Moi dix mois, but after a while they becoming boring >_<

:O but K is creepy in a hot way!

Gackt and Mana? Do you mean MALICE MIZER? Gackt isn't in Moi dix Mois.

@JackieRos I want more too! Their website isn't really updated, other than the two dates for Deep Sanctuary that Moi dix Mois and Kozi are doing together. Hopefully they could play a new song or say something about working on new music. You know what's fun? Playing the game to get into Mana's official site! I envy the two fans who got to go to the Sensual Blue event. I can't really find anything about it on the internet other than in Mana's aesthetics.

Oh that's cool he's friends with Ruki, I know he sang with my love Gara once, too. Gara really looks up to him.

And yeah I could imagine they'd get boring, how could they ever evolve?

Yeah they really do

I remember seeing a picture of Mana hung up like Jesus or something and hands (seemingly from hell) stretched out reaching for him... Maybe that's a memory of two pictures fused into one, but either way... creeeeeeepy. Scared the **** out of me, that's for sure.

to me they have a unique style that no one understands

their name and songs have very deep meanings

my ultimate fav song is Gloire dans le Silence and Xanadu

I tried to get into X JAPAN but *sigh* I didn't like them
I just liked this one song that was in SAW IV

I want some METAL like extreme does anyone know any bands and
don't say Dir en grey I love them enough

MUCC is amazing! But are they as extreme as Diru??? I always thought Dir en grey stuck out in that department.

But anyway some of my favorite MUCC songs are:

Ware, aru beki basho
Rojiura boku to kimi e
Ranchu
Akai Sora
Kami no hoshi
Gokusai
Nageki no Kane
25-ji no yuu'utsu
Fukurou no yurikago
Nuritsubusu nara enji
Anhelier
Chiisa na mado
Houkou
Ageha...

And tons more xD;

MUCC have gone in some strange direction the last few years. Their stuff isn't really heavy anymore, although a song every once and a while is kinda metal. But yeah, regardless, they're still awesome and talented

I think their Zekuu and Kuchiki no Tou albums are probably their heaviest overall.

^ Yeah, I was gonna say that those albums should be looked into. Kuchiki no Tou especially. The self-titled song breaks my heart each time I listen to it...

Maybe I need a definition of metal, because none it sounds "metal" to me O_O; While I agree their stuff is heavy, I wouldn't call it metal... Marrow of a Bone is metal to me, nothing else LOL.

I think that MAXIMUM THE HORMONE is pretty metal, right? I like their theme song for Death Note
