many people have been raging already and I felt it was a kind of discrimination. probably if it had been said a bit differently it could have passed unnoticed. but it's also a kind of disrespect.

like with Kuu scandal, so many people can interprete it for a very bad way

There's Japanese artists i enjoy too and some of the ones I do admire just as much as I enjoy 2NE1, so it upsets me to hear CL say that.

I don't see it as a insult either, and I can agree at least about US

I'm sure she didn't intend to insult anyone but I can definitely see how it could be perceived that way and unfortunately, it seems as though many people have taken it that way from what I've read on various forums (I think some of them are going a bit overboard with their comments though by insulting her looks, etc.). She could easily show pride for her country without specifically pointing out or making a comparison to other countries. Had she not even said that second sentence, I think she could have gotten her point across without making anyone feel that she was being negative towards US and Japanese artists. Overall, I don't think that she had malicious intent with her statement but she'll have to be careful with her wording in the future as sometimes how you intend for things to come across doesn't always translate into how it could be perceived.

I just want to say that I'm a little disgusted at the fact that NUMEROUS sites calling themselves "2NE1 Fan Sites" are offering free downloads of "I Love You"... the girls worked so hard on that song and all their songs... If someone's going to call themselves fans... then they'd purchase the song to support them. The song costs $2 and it's on pretty much all iTune stores... It just... grinds my gears XD

^I'm not going to buy all the singles when ALL of them are coming out on ONE CD eventually. I'm just listening to it through youtube until the album releases.

I like american, japanese and korean music. Every single artist or group is different, i don't think you are better because you are korean or japanese.
Cl you said something really bad, you should avoid the comparison between countries, because your fans could be hurt and pissed.

i agree. she definitely could have worded it differently though. i can see how someone could pull something insulting out of her statement, as alot of people have unfortunately. it's nice to see that she's proud of her country and is willing to speak honestly about it though.

I think it's terrible that self-proclaimed 2NE1 "fan sites" are distributing a song for free that's available for purchase worldwide on iTunes. I've come to expect this from other sites but not fan sites. They should be at the forefront encouraging fans to support the artists by purchasing the song or waiting to purchase the album digitally or physically when it comes out which will contain the song. Fan sites and fan forums typically discourage this type of behavior especially if it's mainly dedicated to a specific artist so I'm surprised to hear that it is so common in regards to this single.

The new MV is gorgeous!
Great setting, styling and colouring.
Minzy is my fave here!

Oh CL... comparing is always a dangerous thing, especially about countries.
I don't like how she worded it as well, though she probably didn't mean it that hard.

Poor birds, couldn't they just let them out?
It was a great performance though, great stage.

what I don't like about the statement, also,is that she contradicts herself. earlier she said she felt the language didn't matter, if music can connect people

I think it was really stupid from CL to say something like that, especially since 2NE1 has worked with people from Japan and the US. :/ Yeah, she probably didn't mean to insult anyone, but I don't think she should have made the comparison.

I totally disagree with her, you cannot really say one country is more passionate about music and another.

and just saying - there are singers outside the pop industry, too...

And aww, I wanted to see the perfomance but it's been blocked already...

^ thanks so much for posting another vid! ^^

I loved the performance, but I seriously don't get why those poor birds were there... Totally unnecessary and not cool imo. :/ Otherwise the stage was really nice and the girls did a good job with the performance.

Thanks for reposting the performance as I too missed seeing the first one! The performance was awesome and I really hope that the intro is on the album (I'd love for it to be a full song but that's probably unlikely). Although I don't love "I Love You", it's grown on me since the first listen and the performance of the song takes it to another level for me. The girls and setting look beautiful. The birds and the setting matched the theme of today's stage but I did feel quite sorry for the the birds, particularly the parrot who was on CL's shoulder for the introduction. I think fake birds would have sufficed in the water and the parrot was a bit unnecessary. Anyways, I can't wait to see their next performance!
