When they say their new single shipped 500,000 copies....is that usually reflective of how it will sell...or what....i don't believe it.

It depends! XD. When looking at certifications ...

Some singles have sold 360.000 copies and have only been certified Platinum (250.000), which means the company didn't think it necessary to ask for a new certification.

Some singles have only sold 70.000 copies but have been certified gold for 100.000 shipments.

But that's only with certifications, if you leave those out of the picture, we can only guess the difference!

Indeed the sold very well on their first day ^_^

354,403 copies, they outsold that Tohoshinki guy solo debut single

I think they might end up selling 450,000 copies this week, so the 500,000 copies shipped mark is not really that far after all!

I AM SO HAPPY FOR THEM. I love AKB and they deserve this. They're just so amazing <333 Team B's new stage is good as well.

They're going to be so big this year, I just know it.

Actually the number 331.000 doesn't mean 331,000 copies of the single has been sold but 331.000 points, it's a value calculated between the physical sales and airplay

I wish they were #1 too

But don't be sad, lol! Most Japanese singles barely even break the op. 40, only Johnny's artist do that (and Arashi occasionally reaches no. 1).

You should be extremely happy they managed to go that high!

You guys are sad when they've sold that much? That's like, freaking amazing. It's going to be one of the best selling singles of the whole year. 500K+ in one week is... Jeez like srsly? Cry when their singles sell over all 5,000 copies, not half a million in 7 days.

They don't actually release albums do they? Only Best albums?

They have albums by team and stage.

There is a bunch...

Team A has 4 albums total, Team K has 4 and Team B has 1.

I used to love them until they released SET LIST ~Greatest Songs 2006-2007~, the songs after were really disgusting for me. But i must say that their latest single, Ponytail no Chouchou is really good, it makes me remember their old stuff
