I really love"Promise To Try" and "Spanish Eyes" from her Like A Prayer album too (well, I will obviously not list the obviously loved songs of that album though: LAP, EY, Cherish, because we all know they're classics and LOVE!!). Act of Contrition scares me though, specially the last thing she says at the end aahaha

Madonna to hit LA Next Week, NY Event Planned

Madonna WILL be in Los Angeles next week (according to insiders close to Mdownload) to shoot the video.
An event is planned in New York City for the launch of the first single.
Some people in Viacom are working with Timbaland on some Madonna related event, could be for MTV or VH1.

Madonna's New Album Moved To February

This is NOT official but i just saw a note about this on a few news wire services as a heads up for events moving dates, these heads up are usually sent to make sure media people will change their time table for upcoming promo events.

Update on the Arthur sequels

Director Luc Besson is ready to start work on the new two Arthur sequels. As already reported a while ago, Madonna and the rest of the cast will be reprising their roles for the two sequels: "Arthur and the Vengeance of Malthazar", set for a 2009 release and, "Arthur and the War of Two Worlds", arriving in 2010.

Freddy Highmore (Arthur) is about to go back to France and Mia Farrow will soon join in to shoot with Besson all live parts for both films. Works for the animated part will start later with Madonna coming back as the voice of Princess Selenia.

Snoop Dogg wants to work with Madonna

Snoop Dogg is showing his R&B side on his latest single, "Sensual Seduction," but what about his rock edge? The West Coast mic maven stopped by the MTV offices recently and said he would like to collaborate with some icons to help him bring out that rarely seen side of his music.

"I want to work with Madonna, Bono or Mick Jagger," he said. "I'm on some rock sh--, man. Snoop Dogg, man! Rappers don't really move me too much. They can't do what I did. I'm trying to get down with something that's outta the box and bigger than me."

Gogol Bordello's Eugene Hutz will be in Berlin with Madonna for the world premiere of "Filth And Wisdom" at the Berlinale.

Madonna symbol of modern women

Madonna is "a symbol of modern womanhood", according to Donatella Versace.

The star, who was the face of Versace's Spring/Summer range in 2005, has been branded a "true icon" by the famous fashion designer.

Donatella said: "The word 'icon' is overused, but in the case of Madonna I believe it has some meaning. She is a true icon. She has become a symbol of modern womanhood - confident, ambitious, dynamic, constantly reinventing herself.

"In 2005 Versace was involved in a process of reinvention with me, a blonde woman, at its helm, so I thought it would be appropriate to have Madonna as the representative of the brand.

"She is also a friend of mine and my late brother Gianni so there is a sense in which she symbolised the way in which Versace was staying true to its DNA, while evolving for the 21st century."

Donatella, 52, also revealed her current celebrity muse is 'Enchanted' heartthrob Patrick Dempsey.

She told Britain's The Independent newspaper: "Patrick's charisma, which defines him both on and off screen, was what led me to choose him to represent Versace menswear. That, and his classic good looks, of course. He has a real masculinity about him."

Madonna to shoot video in London end of this month

On December 17 2007 MadonnaTribe was the first site to exclusively report that Jonas Akerlund was chosen to direct the video for the new Madonna single 4 minutes to save the world in January 2008 and that Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, who are featured on the song and co-produced it would be also featured in the video.

Today we have received further information about the shooting, that will be taking place in London at the end of this month. It has been confirmed to us that Jonas will be directing and that both Justin and Timbaland will be there too.

Previous Madonna videos directed by Jonas Akerlund include Ray Of Light, Music, American Life, Jump, 2004 documentary I'm Going To Tell you A Secret and The Confessions Tour.

4 minutes to save the world will make its radio debut mid-January. Madonna also films the video during that time with Justin and Timbaland. The video will take place in an LA nightclub with tons of crazy dancers. Madonna gets lost in the club and is looking for Justin as Timbaland plays the DJ. During the lost period Madonna dances with random people as she slowly makes her way around the club to find Justin. They discover each other towards the end of the video and dance their asses off with some crazy hip-hop type of moves. Video is set to debut first week of February and the album is out in early March.

--Expect the radio version of 4 mins. to leak online next week right before radio debut.

--The new "image" will be very simplistic, urban type of clothing (jeans and sexy wear with lots of jewelry.)

[Rumour] Sony to Sponsor Upcoming Tour

Sony will be sponsoring her "massive" world tour later this year. They will be providing her technical equipment including arena speakers, projection screens, soundboards and are in the process of designing 2 Bluetooth microphones (including a headset that is almost invisible) that are expected to be frequency-free. They will also be selling a digital tour book on a disc: one side will be DVD while the other side is in Blu-ray format. It's unknown what will be included on the disc and if they will be selling an actual book as well or if it will just be the discs.

Mika Denies being involved on M´s new album

On an interview published in Boyz (UK gay Magazine) Mika states:

"Those rumours have been around for months and I have no idea where they came from. I went to the Graham Norton show and that was the first thing he asked me. When I said it was all a lie, he kinda seem disappointed. I'm sure he just asked to go there to ask me about Madonna's new album."

I just hope going digital won't mean they'll be as crappy as the ICON digital magazines. They went digital and not only did they not deliver, they went way down in the quality of content. In 2007 we were supposed to get four digital magazines and we got two (which we had to beg and pry the people running ICON for. Not only that, we recieved one in March and the other in December. Lame huh? ICON is the biggest disappointment related to Madonna I've ever encountered and it's basically the laughing stock of the Madonna community. The worst part is I'm sure she knows nothing of what goes on there.

Current rumours about Gogol Bordello are not true!

There are rumours going about that Madonna and Gogol Bordello recorded a few tracks together, but Drowned Madonna can deny these groundless rumours. At the moment Madonna has not recorded any songs with Gogol Bordello.

Furthermore, it's rumoured that Gogol Bordello will join Madonna on stage on her next tour. But Drowned Madonna has got confirmation that at the moment there is not any plan about it. Let's wait and see if this groundeless rumour will become true.

The Return Of The Spice Girls tour got an extra boost of Girl Power this evening when the queen of pop herself came to watch the show. That’s right, Madonna and her family were in the audience at The O2 Arena in London to watch the fab five perform their power-packed song and dance spectacular.

It’s not the first time Madonna has seen the Spice Girls in concert, and the girls were delighted once again to perform in front of one of pop’s biggest icons.

The Return Of The Spice Girls tour is directed and choreographed by Jamie King, who has worked with Madonna since 1996 and has directed her last three world tours.

Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn Monroe in the Sunsilk Super Bowl Commercial

A hair-care brand is hoping to generate some attention through a worldwide campaign that gets under way with a star-filled commercial during Super Bowl XLII on Fox on Feb. 3.
The commercial will present three famous, fabulous females - Madonna, Marilyn Monroe and Shakira - to promote the Sunsilk line of hair products sold by Unilever. The 30-second spot is scheduled for the fourth quarter of the game.

Unilever has capitalized on the female viewership during previous Super Bowls, advertising its Dove brand of skin- and hair-care products. Now it’s time for Sunsilk, which the company brought out in the United States in mid-2006, 50 years after it was introduced in its first market, the Netherlands.

"We felt like a campaign of this magnitude deserved a very big stage," Sarah Jensen, marketing director at the Unilever hair-care division in Chicago, said Monday.
The campaign carries the theme "Life can't wait" and urges women to "make your hair happen." The commercial will direct viewers to a Web site, lifecantwait.com, which is scheduled to go live on Feb. 1, where visitors will be asked to share personal stories about how they - like Madonna, Monroe and Shakira - try to live life to the fullest.

The commercial features snippets of songs associated with each star. Madonna sings "Ray of Light," Monroe sings "I Want to Be Loved By You" and Shakira sings "Whenever, Whatever."
After the spot appears in the Super Bowl, the campaign will migrate around the world, to 15 markets in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Sunsilk is sold by Unilever in about 80 countries.

NEW YORK, New York (January 17, 2008) — On February 6, 2008, the United Nations will serve as the location for an exclusive fundraising event hosted by Madonna and Gucci: A NIGHT TO BENEFIT RAISING MALAWI AND UNICEF. This unprecedented event marks the first of its kind to take place on the North Lawn of the United Nations. The event will celebrate the opening of Gucci’s New York 5th Avenue Flagship store in February 2008.

Co-chaired by Gucci’s Creative Director, Frida Giannini, the evening will be dedicated to raising funds and awareness for orphans and children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS in Africa. I suppose it's still too early to judge but I prefer Hey You. I like the 80's raw Madonna feel to Keep The Trance though.
