I hoped Ayu would never touch this genre and I am kinda sad she did. The song is pretty terrible, generic and sounds like so many other songs out there. The bg music is the only good thing about it. Let's just hope they never make another song together as the guy is bringing out the worst in her. I am starting to despise him as well.

You know, I have to agree here... But in particular, I have to say that while I actually like Naoya (I was a big fan of AAA when they still had diverse songs, and I really liked him in the group), Ayu is really starting to make me dislike him. She keeps shoving him in my face when I really just don't want him to be there. And the sad thing is, even though I know it's Ayu's fault, it still affects my view of Naoya because it makes me want him to go away already. Now I understand how the people who dislike her dancers feel because that's exactly how I feel about Naoya at this point. >_<

I just think Ayu is being not very smart about this release. For one, she's collaborating with people who don't even have anything in common with her, whether it's musical style, fan base, or artistic caliber. And then she continually shoves them both in our faces when it seems like most of us really don't want them to be there. Okay, I can understand that you want to have fun and collaborate on a few songs, but then doing a whole a-nation stage with them there (which wasn't even advertised beforehand)? And then you expect people to be happy about it? And then the fact that, even though she clearly knew many people were unhappy about Naoya being there, she goes and adds JUNO in. I understand that you can't ~sacrifice your artistry for your fans~, but that just felt like a slap in the face to fans. (And by that, I mean that it felt like an insult to her fans, not that her fans all necessarily feel insulted by it. )

Hopefully this will just be a random bad release in her career and her next releases will be much better and solo, but yeah... we'll see.

I feel the same, even though I am still an AAA fan regardless (though their music was way more diverse before they became more popular), I totally get what you're saying. Sure she should do what she wants, but I am simply not alright with it. The songs aren't that BAD. I'll give her that one, but then again she set her standards pretty high and when something like ANother song pops out taking her back to 2000 production-wise I'd say it certainly isn't a good thing. Even though the fans who complained about Naoya on twitter were being immature asses, I don't think adding JUNO and shoving him up our asses as well will make things better and now that Japan isn't crawling under her legs I'd be more careful when it comes to pissing the remains of my fan base off. If she likes spending time with them, she can go out and party or sing karaoke with them as much as she wants, but not every "family" member of hers has to be someone she does a duet with or appear in her videos. I guess Why didn't turn out so bad, but over-all both the songs are pretty weak and not up to her standards and that's the main issue I have.

I seriously don't think that ANother song is as bad as everybody is making it out to be. That maybe just me, though... :\ It's a refreshing step up from "Dream ON" (and I like it).

It seriously just sounds like it's been made overnight in Fruitloops .
I don't have a problem with the melody, but it's so forgettable. And it sounds like it just needs so much more work.
Their voices...I actually think Ayu's voice was nowhere near as good as Urata's. I don't really like his technique, but his voice is clear and he doesn't sound strained. Sounds almost like they decided to have some fun and play around mixing songs and they smacked this, half-finished track on FIVE.

It's sad, because I really believe that this song had some potential, but it just...Idk. It's not good

@qwerty: I think that's true. I definitely remember the fuss over B&D and mu.But I think at the end of the day, you can compare those songs to this song...and this is really just a whole other ball park.

I mean, GEO's songs were very not Ayu, obviously, but I think they still had this sort of "genre-less" quality, where she was taking influences from many different places and thinking about how they could fit into the pop songs...and making songs that were still unique somehow.

This is really, a one track song. And it's something I'd expect from you know, I wouldn't even say hiromi, but, just a random, indie, new, under-experienced R&B person who's just made their debut.

Because it has that good melody in the back, and it can be really catchy, and we in the R&B world will see songs like this a lot...but it really is so simple and basic and there's issues like Tom Punks said with the different tracks, and there's not even that many to begin with, so how they had issues...idk...

And I think for someone like Ayu to make this kind of basic song, is very different from her just making something that doesn't sound like what she normally does.

I'm not gonna hate on the song all day, but I think I can definitely understand if Ayu fans are mad, not disappointed...lol mad.

And I can't wait to see what she has to say about these songs lol I hope she can convince people...because as much as I'm usually on the negative side with Ayu's releases, somehow it means a lot that I'm usually in the minority...um I don't think I like that this is just that bad, that everyone dislikes it.

but...like I say, As long as you're happy Ayu. As long as you're happy.

True~ I don't know why she couldn't go down to Rhythm Zone or something and get some help though lol

Guess it's not that bad then...we can just, forget she ever made anything else, and we're starting anew.

Ayu needs to bring Hikki back to making music, they'd both benefit from it.

I just like how she introduces new genres into her music/works and develops them in a really awesome way (rock for example, became one of her best genres), so why not R&B??? I guess we'll have to wait and see lol

And oh yeah, I'm a 100% sure Urata had a huge influence in ayu taking this direction, I bet he was like, "omg but this beat is so good!! We should try it!!!", and ayu was like, "Yeah!! You're sooo right!!"

Well I think for me...and getting off topic here but whatever...I think R&B is not as versatile as rock is...I mean, with Rock, you can just, use the instruments to match whatever you want, and you can call it pop rock...

R&B is characterized so much differently. You have to know your beats and your rhythms. You have to know the influences and stuff like that, going back to the 60s, in order to truly make something innovative or unique...

but don't get me wrong, I love R&B, and I really love experimental R&B, so if she can make this work for her, wow, that would be amazing...

but for me, one of the biggest problems I see, is how much her vocals clash for me with R&B music...maybe it's okay for other people...but when I listen to my R&B, I like me some good, strong, smooth vocals lol

BENI, Emi Hinouchi, hiromi, AILI, Thelma, etc...but yeah, I guess we'll just see.

I think it's interesting that most of her male collabos are R&B songs...Ayu is so funny.

Lovely song, very emotional. And I love Naoya's voice, they sound good together.
It's not as good as WHY... but def. better than progress and beloved.

I don't like it at all, very boring, too old school, a typical japanese "RnB" Ballad, WHY AYU ?

got to listen to it, i like Dream ON better than ANother song though because it has more dynamic than this one, even though i like the music, the piano on the background..it's soothing..but i dislike the beginning~ oh it sounds like "a song is born" in the beginning, "soushite, soushite..." haha XDD
Naoya's vocal has never bothered me though..but this song... their vocals in the repeating chorus parts are not blend so well, Naoya's vocal is liked fade in fade out..lols..

but, it's still an ok song. it has very different feel from previous ayu's songs...and i like ayu trying new things..

ANother song for me is just another song from ayu but it works as part of the album... and i agree ayu should step away from RnB.
