i have learned not to get my expectations up with ayu. i love her and i always will and i will always support her. but if i get my hopes up i find i am often disappointing because i think the album/single/mini should have been better. instead of having a low expectation of everything and being nicely surprised.

Agreed! Learned this a long time ago and it's better to expect crap and receive gold than expect gold and receive crap!

i am so happy to hear that i am not the only one who thinks this way. i often get called a pessamist for it and i can see where they are coming from, but still... ^.^

i mean for example, i has VERY low expectations of Koda Kumi's Japonesque. I didn't like the album title, nor ANY of the covers but when it came out i listened just because i support kuu and it turned out to be the most flawless album she has produced since Kingdom in my opinion.

So i will continue to support ayu always. but i will continue my way of thinking ^.^

Or expect a surprise/expect nothing in particular and you always get surprised! At least, that's how I tend to view all of her releases.

This of course, is not the same as expecting that it's going to be completely horrible or anything like that. It's just going into a new release with an open mind and not thinking "THIS IS GOING TO SOUND LIKE ____________ RIGHT? IT WILL SOUND LIKE HOW I EXPECT THE TITLE _______ TO SOUND LIKE." as you listen to something new.

But expecting and just talking about possibilities are different. I don't think people talking about possibilities are necessarily banking on them being true.

Unfortunately, what I've seen is that people get really hung up on the 'possibilities' and are really disappointed when the songs don't live up to it or are completely different from what was in their head. (this tends to happen for covers too, actually)

It doesn't happen for everyone who has fantasies about her future songs/lives/what have you, but it does happen.

I always expect covers to get worse & worse and never think about what will the songs end up like. The covers rarely positively surprise me, the tracks always do.

i hope the last release would be something like Hikki did for SCV2. Disc 1 is the best of CD and CD2 for new songs.
