In retrospect , I honestly feel the covers for both DEARS & TEARS ain't so bad but I just do not like that Sony reused the same photo as STARS +_+

Oh okay thanks. A few posts made it seem like this was some unauthorized release that Mika didn't approve; something like Chihiro Onitsuka's situation in the past.

Tbh the covers aren't THAT bad but in the vein of Mika, they could definitely be better. Still gonna preorder the limited bundle anyway. Hopefully she includes Memory :x

Nakashima Mika to release 2 best-of albums

It's been revealed that Nakashima Mika will simultaneously release two best-of albums "DEARS" and "TEARS" on November 5.

"DEARS" and "TEARS" will contain 20 songs each, totaling to 40 songs that Nakashima has released since her debut song "STARS" to her latest collaboration single with Kato Miliyah, titled "Fighter / Gift". The two albums will have the concept "two tears" with the theme "tears for tomorrow" for "DEARS" and the theme "tears for somebody" for "TEARS". Regarding the two albums, Nakashima commented, "It would make me happy if it becomes an album through which everyone can reflect on various memories while listening to the songs."

The jacket covers for these albums were made with her debut single "STARS" as the base design. Changing the motif from "lotus" to "snow crystal", "DEARS" features the same picture of Nakashima that was used for "STARS", while "TEARS" features a picture of the singer that was taken in 2014.

To commemorate the two releases, Nakashima will hold a live event called 'Ichimannin no Yuki no Hana' on December 30 at Nippon Budokan. During the live, she is expected to sing various songs in front of 10,000 fans. She will also sing her hit single "Yuki no Hana" together with the fans which will be recorded for future release.

I would be more excited about the Premium lives she's doing in October for her fanclubs *__* If only I could go... ugh. She'll be producing the whole thing, and it's limited to 100 people. So you can actually be super close *o*

But I'm afraid this budoukan live means no tour next year T_T if that's the case, 2015 will be sad for me ugh but all in all, I'm not sure I would have been able to go so we'll see.

I honestly like the concept. It shows progression in a way. I need to see the tracklist before I decide whether or not to buy though. I LOVE Mika, but if the albums have too many ballads I may pass =/

Sometimes it's better to be managed under a lesser well known record label & in return , they treat/manage you much better

That said , it wouldn't surprise me that only die hard Mika fans will get both albums . I don't think I will unfortunately

its sad because i m a huge mika fan , i love her voice , love her style ,love her fashion i bought all her albums up till now . i think those 2 will be an exeption (i love the songs but i dont see the point of owning the same songs twice ) . if at least they had bonus footage or bonus songs or a whole new pv or some kind of photobook added as a bonus i would think about it .

im just mad that those record labels have so much power over the artist ( remind me of what happen with the first a best from ayu ) i wish mika re recorded her old songs with new arrangements .

i would die if i saw her up close . this is awsome . those 100 people are EXTREMELY lucky ! i hope they will release some kind of video or dvd of it


visionfactory--->i doubt mika will sell as much as namie . namie is an huge exeption in this industry .its hard for an artist who have been out that long to keep strong sales like namie does .

To me if you want to release a best album , at least you should do a proper job of it but I don't think this might happen to both DEARS & TEARS

Let alone the DVD footages are supposedly will be live footages . I rather they include her PVs but it will be pointless since most of all will already been included in GREATEST LOTUS

And yeah usually premium live shows are super intimate & upclose which have a very different feeling as compared to arena , hall and/or dome tour like settings

I'm very curious to see if DEARS & TEARS will do well but both releases are strictly for die hard Mika fans to get

I disagree. I think if you are a die-hard fan and have collected a lot of releases throughout her career, there's no logical reason to get this--unless of course you have OCD and just need to ~complete your collection or whatever.

Depending on the tracklist I think this may be attractive to the more casual listener...say, people who really liked a few of her ballads but couldn't be bothered to buy an entire album just to get those few songs. This way they can just buy one release and have more songs they would have a tendency to like.

That said, I won't be touching these with a ten-foot pole.

I know I'm a sucker and I'm mainly buying it (as in, Tears, don't care for Dears ahah) for collection purpose and also for the extra DVD footage they mentioned.

I think best of /singles collection albums are made for more casual listeners so that they can get the hit singles (and others) all in one.
So who knows, it might actually do good if it's decently promoted.

I was in the supermarket this evening and suddenly I thought "Wait, you know this song!". They played the world cup version of Fighter! I was like O.O wtf. Would have never expected to hear a japanese pop song in a german supermarket. lol And I still have no explanation how this happened... xD
