To me, if it sounds good. It's good. And I like it. I'm never gonna complain about awkward "ii"s.

Some people are also saying it's just another pop song... Well, what do you expect? She IS an pop artist after all.

I don't think they are really bashing the song... Maybe they just really really hate it
Umm... cos that's not pretentiously elitist or anything. Why are so many fans total sheep? I swear some people would buy a pair of Reeboks and swallow rat poison if Ayu made a commercial advertising it.

She's not a goddess, she's a musician.

Music is art, and art is complete emotion, and emotion (like opinion) varies from person to person, time to time, place to place. I can't speak for others who share my sentiments, but I won't apologize for critiquing parts of the song. I think it's a great song, I've said that several times. I love it. But I guess I look at a song differently than you.

I'm a musician myself, so I'm a real stickler for details like awkward lyrics and funny pieces of arrangement. When I think things like that, I'm not bashing by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just noting their existence. Obviously if I've been listening to the clip on repeat ever since last night, my thinking "Ooh, if it was my song I would have done this and this and this..." doesn't mean I hate the song. Cos it's not my song, and I can completely appreciate it for what it is.

You can be a realist and still admire something as a valid expression.

So relax. Nobody here is out to destroy Ayu's career.

A final thought: Ever had a friend who fed you all the BS you wanted to hear about how hot you looked, only to find out you had a trail of TP from your shoe and a quarter stuck to your ass? A good friend doesn't let you walk around like that; they cut it to you straight, no matter how hard the truth might be to swallow. Give it a thinkfest.

First, I don't think I need to relax. And I really hope you are not talking about me when you say "Why are so many fans total sheep?".

I'm not an obsessed fan that will do anything that Ayu does because hey, I haven't done anything she ever did. I'd rather be myself than become another person I'm really not. I only enjoy and love her music and performances.

I DID wrote "I don't think they are really bashing the song... Maybe they just really really hate it." and never wrote that you people were bashing the song either.

I just think, who are we to judge her and the song like that? We are no professional? AT ALL. Ayu works her butt off for us and some people still complain for an simple awkward "ii"s? She's not perfect, neither are her songs. People should simply stop expecting her to do anything perfectly. Musically and personally. Some fans even complain if she becomes fatter, or even pregnant. (Yeah, i've seen that.)

I think it's normal to critize. Yeah, I do it all the time. But when you don't know anything about being a musician or creating songs, we shouldn't complain about the things we just don't understand. (that's not for you, since you are one) Some people actually act like "pros"...

Oh, and please. Don't hate me! LOL. No, seriously...

oh and TeamAyu, about the study on us, Ayu fans...you're right...I don't know...but for me, being an Ayu fan, it just gives me a feeling that I should protect her, cause all these negative comments just hurt...maybe others feel the same?

Nowhere did I judge Ayu in my post [and I’m making this post simply because I feel you are indirectly making reference to my earlier post when you mention the “awkward iis”]. I personally love the woman and have been a fan for many years now but just because I’ve been a longtime listener doesn’t mean that I have to love every single song that she releases. Regardless of whether or not I’m a fan of her music I have the right to express my opinion and I would expect others to have the decency to respect another’s opinion. I also never said that she was perfect [nor did I read anyone else making a post in this thread where they said that] so I don’t see where you get off on that little ‘Ayu’s not perfect so people should stop expecting her to be perfect’ rant. Also, look at the title of the thread - it’s asking people to judge the song.

Last I checked, the thread title was “Thoughts on fairyland” meaning that anyone who listened to the song could post what they thought about it. Nowhere does it say “Thoughts on fairyland – pros only” which is basically what you’re inferring where you stated “…we shouldn’t complain about the things we just don’t understand. (that’s not for you, since you are one) Some people actually at like “pros”…”

Anyways, I’m done with this thread as I’ve already posted my thoughts on fairyland and so there’s no more real need for me to post in this discussion.

What's the point to argue? when your opinion is stated and you feel strongly about it, then there's no point in arguing anymore...it only leads to the same information repeated with different words, and gives you a headache of new words being used...

What i thought about "fairlyland" was that the chorus sounds a little like Angel's Song. But I like it, its relaxing...

I thought that too! The beginning of the chorus sounds like the chorus of Angel's song.

I really like the song now. It's completely different from the songs she's released lately (STEP you..., Is this LOVE?, Because of you, About you and other rockish songs). I do like the verses more than the chorus, but overall I think it flows good together.

the song is actually not bad...it's soothing! i love the techno intro!
the chorus did remind me of angel song though, but it's nothing bad at all.

Has anyone ever considering doing a study on Ayu fans? We are seriously some of the most insane people ^^;; we all need to CHILL.

But I think that problem that a lot of people have with bashing Ayu songs is that there is seriously SO much negative comments that it has an effect on fans who do enjoy it... I SOUND CRAZY I KNOW but I think it's true. I'm not saying were not entitled to our opinions and what not cause I this is my opinion as well but maybe we should all just CHILL and relax and not try to take each other's heads off when it comes to debating over Ayu. Were like cats and dogs seriously. But take INSPIRE and MY STORY... seriously there was an abundance of negative comments like constantly and it seriously just kills the songs for some of us to the point where WE start to hate it even though we loved it from the start. I actually hated INSPIRE and MY STORY in the beginning because of all the shiz people were talking about it, when in actually MY STORY is probably her best album to date and INSPIRE possibly are some of Ayu's best lyrics, but then again it's my own choice to read the posts so FINAL THOUGH WITH ALL OF THIS CRAZINESS IS JUST CHILL PEOPLE!

I agree with you! I've had the same experience. When you constantly read people making negative comments you eventually start to lose your enjoyment of the song, or even the artist as a whole. I know everyone is entitled to their opinions, but honestly, an over abundance of negativity affects everyone.

AH you guys quit arguing! comments are to be read not to be countered....sometimes the things we argue here are crazy, and little, and shouldnt get on anyone's nerves

anyways! back to the point of this thread. i like the song, although i thought the performance seemed kind of 'not scripted but almost'...her vocals might have been fiddled with, although i might be totally wrong because this song doesnt seem difficult to sing. i thought it was different, and new. not a mixture of anything. yeah when the chorus begins it was like 4 vocal notes from angel's song, but thats it. its a feel-good song, much like when i felt after listening to 'theme of a-nation '03' which is what it's supposed to be like right? i like it. her new songs are sooo different to me. im glad that they're different, too.

The more I listen, the more I want to dance to it! I think it's a very good song to play at a (dance) party, don't you think?

The beginning and verses are VERY much to my liking! However, the chorus really reminds me too much of Angel's song hahaha not sure if that's a gd thing. Certain parts of the music sounds kind of familiar, hmm interesting. I like the guitar solo as well. The chorus, hopefully it'd grow on me more XD

Hahaha, it's always nice to see people having different opinions like that. Me and ex usually discuss some of Ayu's song and made comments about the lyric and the music itself. Yeah, I'm not a pro, i'm just somekind of stupid singer wannabe and my ex's studying composition in Uni but it's always okay to critize, but not in a rough way. It's just a matter of language and how the critics are delivered.

Okay, from my opinion, I really like the beggining where it sounds a bit gloomy and thank god the music wasn't loud at the verses. The chorus is all about the hype, similar to ANGEL'S SONG but, i dunno, this one is not as 'happy' as ANGEL'S SONG (and that's good for me!). I absolutely love the bridge part!!! The last chorus was ok but I don't really like the way they made the overtune, seems strange and forced.. but still ok.
Overall, I think it's a different summer song unlike all the hype happy feelings of Greatful Days, July 1st or any other songs. This song is GREAT and NEW!

Well, after a second listen/watch, I still really enjoyed everything up to the chorus. It's nice that it's like a compilation of Ayu's really good songs, but if you take a bunch of good songs and cram them together, the end result isn't that great.

The verses are pretty good, but the chorus, to me, is just awful. I know Ayu's very happy and it's a summer song, but I like Greatful days more than this. Ayu always has her fun summer song(s), but I've never heard anything that sounded this bad. I have yet to watch the entire thing because I turn it off during the last chorus. I'm a tad disappointed after her last single and was expecting a bit too much.

Sorry Ayu, but I'll wait for an album, which I'm sure will be good...

I'd be upset if this way my company's theme song, even though it seems like Japan will gobble this right up while many better new singles get lower sales...*grumpy*

TeamAyu:I did the same thing! I used to hate INSPIRE (Just because of the PV and the bashing!) and MY STORY (I heard only singles and prejudged by negative comments) but I love both now, especially INSPIRE because it gives me a happy summer feel when it's not summer. Negative or positive reviews shouldn't affect peoples' opinions and everyone should give stuff a good listen before jumping to conclusions based on other reviews..
