The lyrics aren't really original, but I think they're simple and sweet.

Ayu will probably be making music into her 50's-60's, like Madonna.

No. Ayumi has stated several times, if she can't sing, she'll die. Music is her life.
She has sang goodbye songs before. End roll, Over, many others and Curtain Call won't be the last.

Watch her CNN interview a couple years back where she says in plain Engrish that if she couldn't continue singing, she would die. Think of all the times she said she won't give up (Mirrorcle World, Born to Be...) I think those songs are more directed to her career events more than Curtain call, besides, in EnergizE, she says "Let me sing forever," so, interpret this song any way you would like to, I presented my case and only time will truly tell whether Ayumi just stops singing cold turkey after NEXT LEVEL. <-- sarcasm.

I'd probably be inclined to agree with you, had the album not been titled NEXT LEVEL. It's a completely fair interpretation though. People on these forums don't know how to close their mouths sometimes.

yeah

It makes sense thinking the song is about retiring, but no, i don't think she is retiring any time soon. (I would be really angry if she announces she is, though) Music is her life

Maybe a song from somebody who lost someone and wants that love back again...

By the way, excellent interpretation... I hope she will never retire!!!!
