BoA's Korean stuff is still the only Korean music I can stomach and I hope she continues putting out good Korean music (although no more Girls On Top-like albums please). This is a time in her career where fan support is really needed, so I hope her Korean fans can come through for her. That and for the album to be good.
Spoiler:
You say that with with images from Hikki's tour to promote her crappy English album in your avatar and sig

I hope BoA gives us something amazing like Kpop was last year <3 Something as amazing as her english album PLEASE <3

I liked her English album. Sure it was full of heavy accents + cheesy lyrics but a lot of the songs were very catchy.. I remember having IDIFL and Look who's talking on repeat for days lol. also Girls on Top is one of her best albums imo.

Some were. IDIFL definitely one of them. Didn't like Energetic but it's grown. But they couldve been just as catchy if it wasn't BoA singing. I bought the album when I saw it at Best Buy around the time it first came out and I admit I played it and some of the songs had me hooked. Her US album was essentially my introduction to BoA (never really heard of BoA before that though I heard Every Heart not knowing who sung it). It wasn't until I researched her and checked out a lot of her old Korean/Japanese releases that I realized how good her work was.....and then how bad her English album was...the voice from all those great releases had been edited, clean-cut, processed, completely mechanized.

I used to not know either until I got into korean music, most of the girl groups really look up to her and she's mentioned so much on korean shows I watch

It will have been 5 years since BoA's last activity in Korea. Will the Korean fans be more forgiving? Will they want her back with all thos idols they call "talent"? I sure damn hope so...cause it's about time the K-pop industry has a good, BoA-type legend back over there...and for BoA's 10 years of hard work she deserves a successful 10th anniversary....this will be an interesting summer.
OMG, I am so sick of seeing you diss k-pop ALL OVER AHS. It's like every time I see you say ANYTHING it's another anti-k-pop comment. I don't know why you think they're all talentless and the music is all generic, maybe you only tried out the really overrated groups like 2NE1 and BIG BANG, but not ALL k-pop is THAT generic and they are definitely some of the best singers and dancers in Asia. Not to mention that music EVERYWHERE, including Japan, is totally generic nowadays, so k-pop is not any worse as far as "generic" goes. I can totally understand if you don't like it, and I don't care if you never do like it, but please STOP bashing it everywhere because it's getting really unnecessary and offensive and just annoying! You don't see other people bashing what they don't like in every thread they post in, do you?!

Tom Punks: I totally agree with you... Even if we have "mainly boybands and girlbands" trend in k-pop now, in my opinion korean music is more interesting and a bit better than japanese currently. I can say that j-pop is more generic now, sorry.

...I can't understand why some of you say that BoA's comeback won't be a hit for sure. I think that Korea misses BoA and wants to listen some new stuff.
And personally I WANT SOMETHING LIKE GIRLS ON TOP so badly. No one of songs in this album was boring. But it's my opinion.

...And english album... Sorry, but NO. It's always the same with american albums: songs from singles are really good and catch attention, but the rest is unlistenable. I'm talking about popular, mainstream artists, don't think I'm bashing american music or something.

Then you might like to know that Energetic is still charting. I heard it a couple of times on this one dance radio station and on the Club Charts, its like number 40 or something.

Yay for BoA with extensions....

And whoa....chill out people....I didn't know you'd take it so seriously and I have deleted the line I mentioned about "idols" and such. As for BoA being the only K-pop I can stomach, that is my true opinion so I'll just leave it at that...but I guess I went too far with the idol bashing in the other post and now its deleted. So...sorry for that.

because her career was already taking a nosedive back in 2005, i don't see what would have changed over the past 5 years. she's been out of the spotlight almost completely. of course she has her fans that miss her and waited for her, but most people have moved on. that's not to say she won't do well, because she's generally well liked there. i think it's ok to worry about how many people still care enough about her to buy her cds.of course she'll hit #1 and have decent sales (for korea's standards), anyone from one of the big three companies SM/JYP/YG is guaranteed that, but if anyone expects her to be as big as she was back in the early 00's they're delusional.

and most kpop albums are 90% filler material as well, save for a few.

^^ Did anyone here say that she'll have the same popularity like in first years after debut? No. I hope that it'll be similiar to 2004 and 2005 years, hope it's not wishful thinking.

All depends of competition... We don't know what artists will release and promote new songs and albums in the same time like BoA...

The comment against Kpop is like a racist says he are not racist but he hates other races.

That means, they have to be removed.
