"Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo"

It's been a very long time without any updates.
Today is Mika Nakashima's "Ichiban Kire na Watashi wo" release date.
I had done the arrangement and songwriting.
As many of you may know, it is the insert song for TBS drama "Unubore Deka".

Usually, when you write songs for Sony Music Publishing, it must be via an exclusive arrangement.
As I do not compose music for a lot of artists, this "Ichiban Kirei na Watashi wo" was made in this context.
It's a song that was made from the beginning for Nakashima-san.

All the writers around me like Nakashima-san,including me of course, simply because we grew up buying and listening to her CDs. (laughs)

I think there're only a few artists who can sing the lyrics "It was you who held the most beautiful me" making them their own, exception for Nakashima-san.

The lyrics were born first with this song.
I had been wondering for several days how to describe the feelings of a woman who was looking back at her unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime love in a single line.

I didn't notice that I wrote a considerable strong message with this particular line, because I was absorbed in my work too much.

After it was completed, I was asked what I meant by this line
"The head chorus "You were the one who held the most beautiful me""
I blushed and said something when I finally noticed (laughs)

Someone close to me asked me what I meant with this song.
I think that the meaning of the music is good as far as people think it.
