why are people surprised? S: sales are not about quality anymore, if not AKB48 wouldn't be selling that much nowadays (just kidding XD). doesn't matter the position either but how it's going to sell at the end. I doubt it will reach Gossip Candy's sales though. her sales are decreasing over the years. as long as she doesn't sell 10k per single I'm fine. lool
anyway; digital sales are a better indication of how popular a song is, and Poppin' love cocktail is doing really good on recochoku. it reached #1 on the chaku-uta full weekly.

I did think that it would be better, because I thought they moved the singles release date because of the competition on the original release date. Oh well, we will see what happens at the end of the week.

This is true. I'm surprised that it isn't higher than 5, but then again, CD sales are decreasing everywhere in Japan with many stores closing down. And she does have quite stiff competition this week, so well done, Kuu!
I think digital sales are becoming more popular instead. And it isn't true that Kuu is no longer at the stop spot. Despite the declining sales, all of Kuu's studio albums since Secret (which was #3) have all hit the #1 spot. As well as all of her DVD's have always hit #1, except Eternity: Love & Songs at Billboard Live is the only one that hit #2. Her Secret: First Class Limited Live was the top selling female artist DVD of all time, only just beaten after 4 years by AKB48's new DVD. (And only a 1000 or so sales). But it is true that this is her first single to not be #3 or above on the daily oricon for years, and her singles last year didn't do as well as the year before. The only single to hit 1# last year was Suki De X3, and was her last #1. But she's usually in the top 3, and I'm happy even with the top 5. =] Especially since CD sales in Japan are decreasng every year. I think it's album spots and sales that are more important than singles. Kuu makes quality songs and I think that's what matters. =] I don't think her and her staff worry about sales. Gossip Candy hit #3 and is one of my favorite summer singles from kuu, as well as 3 SPLASH. <3 Maybe it will go up once more promotions begin or the single. She's still only done 3 performances for PLC, and yet to perform the other 3 songs, but I hope she does do more lives of the other songs now the single is out. I think she also has a lot of Magazine shoots coming up, too, so I can't wait to see those!
