[2006] Do You like Kumi? How did you start to like her?

i've only really started listing to Kumi in mid 2006 i think. i much prefer her more recent albums

I found her through her sister, misono(oddly enough, since no one likes misono lol). I'd heard misono through Tales of Symphonia, and learned about her and started following her solo career(stopped since Zasetsu Chiten). I eventually decided I'd give her sister a shot, and found that I liked Kuu a whole lot more than misono. Now I only follow the older Koda. Kuu's pretty amazing. I can't remember the year I got into Kuu, but it was probably sometime in 06, when I figured out I could download music XD

No no, I know who she is. Ha.

It's just the poll choices kind of suck and pidgeon hole you into really not having a choice and it's much too specific where not everybody is going to fall into any of those categories. You either don't like her at all or You're a fan who has followed her for such and such a specific amount of time and I don't fall into either of those categories so "Errr..... who is that?" was the best choice for me.

I don't dislike her and I'm not actually a fan of hers. I don't listen to her music, not because I don't like it, just because I haven't taken the time to check her out to see if I do like it. The only piece of music of hers that I own is "Real Emotions" and I got that because I liked the English version of the song and wanted to hear how the Japanese Version sounded. I hadn't even heard the song when I ordered it. So yeah. There should be a "I don't dislike or like her....she's just there" option.

yes, i like kuu last year. Initially i have a bad impression of kumi but i grew to know that sometimes she really makes good music and her performances are very charismatic.

urrmmm i don't really like her, the only song that i barely like is D.D.D, but that's it...i would like her if she have better songs, but i just don't like them, so i've given up on trying to like her...

I used to HATE her.

Then BUT came out. I love that song. Downloaded some other songs. Now I love her.

I do still have a slight dislike of her, but I mostly like her.

And I'm proud that I'm one of the few fans that don't like her because of her Final Fantasy song. I don't even like it that much.

My first impression of her was in her SHAKE IT pv. I was 15 years old and very innocent, found it on youtube, thought she was umm.....different. However, 1 year later I heard I'll be there for you and I LOVED the song. Listened to the rest of her discography and she grew to become one of my favorite artists. She's in my top 5 female artists.

Edit: SHAKE IT is now one of my favorite Ku songs.

I'm not exactly a HUGE fan of hers but I like most of her music, even tho i think she can be a bit skeezy at times. Anyway, I didn't really know who she was until I saw her performance when I went to a-nation 2003. The next day after the concert, I went to the nearest record store and bought her "grow into one" album. I've been listening to her ever since.

I liked her music all the time... I can't remember since when but I always thought oh god why is she dressing like that?
well I came to like her even more with her new album... plus she seemes to be really nice as a person herself. I came to think that avex is putting that image on her. I don't really like avex... it always looks like they do what they want with their singers v_v

Her music is so... great and cool, I really like it..
But, I don't like about her way of dressing (even though I know she didn't want it that way..), and I still thought of her as newcomer (?) I dunno why,,

I started liking Kumi last year. Not a big fan and will occasionally be very negative towards her but for the most part, I don't care.

Some people on "UtadaStation" or something showed me the lyrics to a song by a singer named "Koda Kumi" called JUICY. I was laughing so hard at the lyrics because they were so over sexual, so I watched the video. I actually liked the song and BOTTLE HUMPING IS HILARIOUS, anyway I downloaded her Black Cherry album and I LOVED it a lot. Soon I bought BEST~First Things~, BEST~second session~, Kingdom, and Black Cherry. And now I'm a fan :3

I voted for this year, which means 2006. I began listening to her music autumn that year when I was getting bored with Ayu's music (which is actually happening again).

At first I didn't really like her more sexier songs/PV's, because I thought I can't watch things like that. But then suddenly I just fell in love her and I've loved her ever since. And year 2008 was a Koda Kumi year to me because I have been listening to her more than in the last two years I did. And I've been listening to her a lot in this year too, which must be because of the new album.

But yeah, I think I'm a Koda Kumi fanatic soon. I love her~ <3 There are many reasons but mostly I listen to her music because she just makes that kind of music I really love. I have noticed that I really love R&B/Hip Hop based music more than rock music. And then there's also that fact that I really love her voice, even if it has been changing somehow lately. o.O But yeah, Kuu's songs also make me feel good. :>
