A BEST 2 discussion thread!

Because there's been so many songs produced since the M single, I doubt any singles or album tracks from the Secret album will be on A BEST 2. It only makes sense too because if she did include Secret trakcs on A BEST 2, what's the point of even releasing the studio album 3 months before the BEST release.

I really hope these 2 BESTS combined does sell over 3 million copies. Referring to someone's post about Utada's not selling over 3 million, I'm not surprised it didn't because it was basically all of the singles and a latest single all put into one album, nothing new. For A BEST 2 Ayu is recording a new song that's hopefully not going to be a single, and hopefully she redoes vocals or uses new arrangements for older songs like A BEST.

i think with the 2 albums immediate sales won't look so hot because the majority of people will likely only buy 1 album at a time, but as time goes on people will pick up the other one, thus i expect the combined sales to be around 1.3 million. (i'm aiming low so i don't go dissappointed).

But anyway, I think the 2 albums would hit 1 million each. Because of the publicity A BEST had, the Japanese would probably remember A BEST as a phenomenom, since Ayu rebelled against the whole idea in such obvious manners. And besides, people might think that this would be her last album ( which I dont think so) because her contract is ending next year, and thus more people would buy!

I think WHITE might sell better..some people will just download the new song and PVs...but WHOLE CDL is more spacious.? lol...

i really hope she does really well for this..hopefully #1 album in the year if possible...its not too big a wish right?

I don't think so, or else she wouldn't sing so much evolution, Fly high, flower garden, independent and so in her concerts, and aside from ayu, songs like "sakuranbo" wouldn't be best sellers as well as songs like "infection" wouldn't have had so much negative cricism when they were released.
In AHS, though, the preference seems to be the other way though.

i like the idea of black and white, one rock oriented, one ballad oriented, but then again i like diversity in an album. Not to mention i like the idea of double release, but.....i wish she could've made it simple.....but whatever, i'm really looking forward to that new song

She just cant make it simple, she wants to make things in BIG so she can still start to sell very good and beat the new queen of jpop I guess..anyway is this already ufficial? I wonder why some artists make us wait some time before make the things official and then how can people already know about it before the official announcement (like Amuro's new single that become official after some days, when people of forums knew it already)

That's quite a lame thing to say. ayu has been on a very long "BEST" release hiatus, she did have to release her stuff in 2 albums, taking into instance that the her first BEST only covered 3 albums (she now has 6 more albums). You can't blame her for making this stuffed with bonus, koda kumi does the same, it's avex business dear. I highly doubt ayu has any intention of beating any "new queen". As for businnes cheating, I'm quite as sure ayu's even: Koda had one of her albums called BEST when it actually WASN'T a BESt at all (BEST ~second session~ isn't and never will be a BEST album, it's just the album for the singles she released in 3 months, some of which definitely can never be considered BEST imo. Plus, if the songs could hardly sink into people's minds, how can you push and force things to make it BEST? It takes time for a song to transcend time and be honestly chosen as a best or not. As a koda kumi fan, I actually feeel quite annoyed that they pulled such a dirty trick, because several songs there aren't best).

However, avex business is quite different, they know they'll get more profit if they split the release in 2. They deal with business not charity anyway.

It's true it's been a long time that Ayu release a best but I didnt say she did the new Best for beating Kumi, I just said she makes things big now for it, she still wants to be on top and beat Ku . <-- Make things big not release the new A BEST
About the Best Second Session, I like it but not as Best first things that is waaaaaaaay better than the second one, also I think people would have complained if she didn't call it best since only 2 songs of it are new + the introduction. I think the 12 single thing wasnt that bad, 'cause it was a news, but if it repeats it will be annoying...also Ayumi released 24 singles in 2001 (with "remix" singles that actually have half of the songs of the normal singles she used to release with 10 remix tracks, re-release of her first singles to make them with 10 remixes tracks too, normal singles and the duet single with Keiko..and some of this singles all on the same day) and that was a news too, and that was really annoying.

I know about the fanclub but I didn't know that the fanclub members had the news before us (I only thought they can buy merchandising before us and have secret meetings with the artists, didnt know about the news thing).

If it's anything like what she's done for Secret, then I have nothing to worry about!
Too bad there wasn't any material in Secret in A BEST 2, but I guess it's a smart move by avex.
They want people to still buy Secret.
If Secret material was put in A BEST 2, then there would probably be alot of people who would rather buy the BEST album rather than Secret.

Please do put "Bold & Delicious" in the best. This song should not be in A BEST.
