Ok, HOT. I love that "Because of you" hairstyle. It's soooooooo sexy (Ayu does it sexier though, lol).

And I have to say, this is the first time I actually kinda like a Kumi rock song. I always thought maybe she wasn't suited for rock but if done right, I think it could sound great. In the past, the rock songs haven't been so catchy or interesting. They were just boring songs. This I can handle though

There's an article on the offical site that says something like Kuu and Avex had some demos and Kuu took CWGB cause she liked it the most and wanted it to be her next single. As far as I remember it also says that both Avex and Kuu didn't know that Kelly already had a version of this song. I don't know if the article is saying something more that she heard it first or something.

シングル『TAKE　BACK』でメジャーデビューしてから今年で遂に10年目。 2009年12月6日、デビュー10周年に突入した倖田來未。今の心境をたずねると、こんな意外な言葉が返 ってきた。
「正直、アーティストとしてはもっと飛躍を遂げていると思っていました。結果としては、思い描いていた"1 0年"にはまだ到達していないんじゃないかな」
　その原因は"臆病になっていた自分にある"と分析。この1～2年は何かやろうとするたびに「何か目立った パフォーマンスをすると叩かれるんじゃないか？」、「失敗するんじゃないか？」、「みんなに受け入れてもら えないんじゃないか？」そんな不安が頭をもたげて、思いきれずに走れずにいたという。
「挫折を味わったっていうのもあるし、子供の頃は転ぶことも恐れずにガムシャラに突っ走ることができたんで すけど。転ぶのが恥ずかしい、怪我するのが怖い……そんな想いから全力で走れないでいたんですよね。10周 年という節目を迎えて自分自身と向き合った時、そんな自分を強く感じたんです」
　そんな"今"の気持ちを包み隠さずリリックに綴ったのが、ニューシングル『Can We Go Back』だ。そこには、負けるコトに慣れてしまっている自分を、投げ出しそうになる自分を叱咤するように 、声を張り上げ「諦めるな!」と叫ぶ彼女の姿が描かれている。
「ダメな自分を認めたとき、同時に"このままじゃいけない!"という強く前向きな気持ちにもなれたんです。 このシングルを期に" もう一度"転ぶことを恐れずに走ろうじゃないか!"ってね」
　今作のサウンドにはそんな倖田來未の強いこだわりと意思表示がつまっている。
「実はこの曲は海外作家の方のデモ曲だったので、海外でも楽曲としてリリースされているらしくて。でも、デ モを聴いてるうちに自分が歌っている姿が思い浮かんでいましたね。MUSIC VIDEOやライブの世界観はもちろん、細かいサウンドのアレンジまで……こんなに強く自分の中に入ってき た曲は、正直、初めてだったんですよ」
　そういうだけあって、今作はバンドのアレンジメントまで細かくチェック。現場で指示を出しながら"頭の中 で響いた音"を作りあげていったとか。
DVDのメイキング映像にはその様子がおさめられている。

PVのイメージは"ジャンヌダルク" (ジャンヌダルク = JOANA D'ARC, JEANNE D'ARC, JOAN OF ARC)

倖田來未が、諦めそうになっても、負けそうになっても、投げ出さなかった理由。それは「仲間がいたからだ」 と彼女はいう。
「倖田來未という看板をひとりで抱えるのは大変だけど、私にはそれを支えてくれるたくさんの仲間がいるんで すよ。スタッフ、友達、家族、そして、待っていてくれてるファンのみんな……その仲間とは、私の周りにいる 大切な人達です」
　ときに傷つき支え合いながら、仲間と一緒に戦いに出る。そのイメージが倖田來未のなかで"ジャンヌダルク "と重なった。今作のMUSIC VIDEOの世界はその"ジャンヌダルク"をテーマに作り上げられている。

躍動感あふれるジャケット

「今作のジャケットは、MUSIC VIDEOの中の映像を切り取って写真にしたものなんですよ。実は、すでに別日にジャケット撮影を終えてい たんですけど。MUSIC VIDEOの撮影の合間に、カメラマンさんが映像のワンカットをPCの画面に出していて。それを見た瞬間" ジャケットはこれで行こう!"って即決して変更してしまったんです」
　倖田來未を魅了したのは"躍動感"。カメラの前でポーズをとって撮影した写真ではなく、パフォーマンスの 中で見せる勢いや息吹を感じることのできる写真に、今の自分が求める"強さ"を感じたとか。
「なんだろう、強さと同時に、その裏にある傷や心の痛みのようなものも、如実に表れているような気がしたん ですよね。すごく"今"の私が映し出されたジャケットに仕上がったと思います。」

Well, it's a very dark PV, with Kuu and some followers fighting for freedom. You can see a battle field and Kuu crying and accompy obviously injured and dead followers after the dancing break. That is indeed something Kuu had never done before, the whole Jeanne D'arc/freedom theme. And even if you can't see blood or something like that , maybe that is shocking for some japanese people?

I think the dance is clearly a MJ tribute. She probably saw This Is It and got inspired from it, because the dance reminds very much the dance MJ and the crew practiced for "They Don't Care About Us" and the music is changed to same style/beat at that part too.

I love the song and the video. I like how she made the song more like, groovy and bouncy. Suits her more. And I personally think she can pull also rock off.

And that Bargain cm is seriously so cute! I probably wouldn't have liked Good Day (I'm too tired to go star hunting now, sorry ), but now that cm is stuck in my head and makes the song more likeable too lol.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was remembered as well.
And damn, just look at Kuu's gloves, it is a reminiscence of MJ.
Even MJ made such a simple dance and he was a dance god. And it is amazing as it is, so much people doing the same moves in Kuu's PV.

CWGB's PV was... omg, one of her most enjoyable PVs imo. It's a concept she has never done before, so it made me so excited! The dance break was really cool, and I agree, it screams MJ but it was just really cool!

I love her hair color too, but I hate her make up in the first scene... it's like O_O

Oh! Okay because like 2 seconds into the video my first thought was, "Is she lip syncing???"

I wouldn't be surprised if she's so tired of singing that song she just lip syncs the rest of her performances.

On Kumi's wikipedia it says that she heard the demo track from the original writers of the song and decided to record it. It's from her wikipedia, which isn't reliable sometimes, but I just decided to throw it out . I wonder if they seriously didn't know it was a Kelly Clarkson song though.

Another good - if not tiring >_<' - performance of Lick Me. I think that's the best outfit yet, besides the long white dress (that she almost tripped on, hah). The vocals sound the same every time, though, right? Whatever, they're good, so..yeah.

I was also wondering what was so "shocking" about the PV. I, also, figured it must be only shocking because it's something she hasn't done before, the entire concept, and the dead people and crap... Whatever.

It is possible they don't even know who she is, but I would think that if somebody already used a demo for a song, that information would be very out in the open.... Maybe not? It's just weird.
