Yeah, I don't think it would be a good idea for Meisa to try and tackle a swelling-strings-and-sweeping-orchestra ballad right now. Maybe if she learns how to better control her voice and becomes familiar with her limitations she could in the future - and by that I mean she knows enough to not attempt singing notes that she obviously can't...

I do think that, at this point, she could probably handle a mid-tempo ballad with simple production. Something like that would suit her vocals better; something similar to Namie's "Baby Don't Cry."

A thin voice isn't necessarily terrible to listen to as long as the music is suitable.

I probably can guess that she herself know what limit she has when comes to her voice

which explains quite a great deal of upbeat funky tunes in hellcat cos usually if you don't have a powerful voice , you have to rely on great beats & etc in a bid way to make up for your lack of vocal power

I agree. She shoudl try to improve her voice and her way of singing to sing ballad!

so i finally got a chance to listen to hellcat today and i was really, really surprised! i like every song on it. i get a namie vibe from the songs but it's more... lively? if thats the right word

yeah I got that same thing as you too but having said that it's 1 debut album that's very surprising that I have came across so far this year

& here I was regretting on ordering it online initally but not anymore

she was very pretty at the end of One Pound Gospel cos the 1st 8 episodes , she was in her nun outfit & for her to drop all that & got married with Kamenashi Kazuya's Kosaku , that's <3

hellcat is pretty catchy, all things considered. It definitely shouldn't be considered serious-artist material, especially since she and her company are testing the musical waters, but it's got potential to foreshadow good things to come. I've heard way worse vocals - with a little training and experience, she could improve a lot.
