Thoughts on fairyland - Page 9

Okay so I finally listened to it... I'm wondering if I'm the only person who thinks it feels like an upbeat version of No way to say? I think the comparisons to her recent uber-upbeat songs are pretty unfounded. It's in a minor key and while fast, the key makes it feel completely different and not really upbeat. Hopeful, perhaps... like now is negative but she's optimistic about the future. It has that sort of feel to it. I loved it, I think it's different. There's not really a song or even group of songs you can compare its overall sound to, but the combo-comparisons (like July 1st + Free & Easy) do it more justice, although the arrangement of those two are lacking, while fairyland feels more filled-in.

The song is like a mesh of Naturally, Seasons, Angel's Song, and July 1st. Only with different lyrics. Nothing really special about the song. Man I was expecting a ballad. pooh.

Its starting to grow on me now but as bulmasman said its average at best.

but I now confirmed that I am gonna buy the single.

Marvelous.

I didn't like it at first. It didn't seem very different or special. But it's grown on me so much. It's so happy... it's definitely a hybrid of July 1st/Angel's Song, that variety. It's definitely a summer song. The summer song of '05.

I also can't help but think of the cover single for "Forgiveness", even though the songs are completely different.

I thought of the forgiveness cover too. It was weird. And I agree on the summer song. It is definitely a summer song.

At first, I thought of Free & Easy and July 1st when I heard it because it was slow, then up beat and turned into that summer song. Overall I thought it was kick ass!

I would get the single. I mean, why not?

HONESTLY..................

That song is Garbage/trash as a Ayu fan I expected better I the single can't compare to Step You/Is This Love? and If this single does will then I have no choice but to believe Ayumi is a overratted Artist

I'm sorry, but that's just stupid (no offence).
Everyone has a single that they didn't like to much, it's impossible for Ayumi to please all her fans. Every fan has a different taste, because if you read this topic there are lots of fans who do like Fairyland. And there were lots of fans who thought Step you/Is this love? was disappointing. Because everyone has different taste.

It's ok not to like the song, but to say she's an overrated artist is just jumping to conclusions.

Did I ask your for a Opinion on my Comment??? I don't think so .......... Sorry not changing my mind about is and there are others singles but Ayu that were horrible and that sell. If I think she is overratted then it be that how I feel

I'm really agrreing with you, here. It gets worse the more I hear of it. I haven't been really disappointed in much that she's released - but this is definately one of the disappointments.

If it sells better than "STEP you/is this LOVE?", than maybe that's because most of her fans prefer "fairyland/alterna" to "STEP you/is this LOVE?". Not because she's overrated. It's not because you think it's crap that means that all the fans does. So it's completely normal if this single sells more than "STEP you/is this LOVE?".

me too~ when I first heard fairyland it was like a combination of is this LOVE? and ANGEL'S SONG. fairyland sounds okay to me really...music wise it might have been just average, I don't think it was as bad as some people thought (just my own opinion), but maybe once we understand the lyrics it might grow on us..afterall, most (not all) of Ayu's songs have a significant meaning behind it

I just heard the full high quality version, and I think it's pretty damn good. I love the bridge part, how it keeps building up and stuff. Her vocals are great too... This is probably my favorite from her this year so far. ...Awaiting the PV and alterna...
