Koda Kumi's last few singles have had such huge drops because of the FC editions. This single will definitely plummet too, since the album is coming out in a month, but not quite as badly as Taboo did. I'd say it'll sell around 90k this week.

I can't remember exactly the numbers. But the first day index of TABOO was around 22K to 24K. THEN, it dropped below 4K the next day. That was a big shock for kuu fans and the general public (me? ), cuz I didn't expect a 80% drop on index between the first and second days.

We can't really compare D/G sales pattern with R/S:
- Days is a Christmas ballad, easier to be accepted by the general public;
- Ayu did perform Days at least 5 - 7 times on TV
- The digital download chart shows Days did have a better reception (it stayed on no. 1 for a week and top 5 for at least 3 three weeks).
- Rule barely has promotion. She doesn't sing live this time, and some people pointed out that the cm isn't shown that often.
- R/S is released a month before NEXT LEVEL. This will affect R/S sales for sure.

Of course,
- Rule is Dragonball theme, so it may help boosting up the sales.
- The Japanese thinks Rule is a good song (I dunno... I just know from Sunshine and the others that the Japanese dun like Sparkle that much).

I can't even guess how good/bad this single sales will be. We can get a better prediction by the time the second day index is out. I kinda think the second day index... If it's good enough, it will be around 7K - 9K. Or maybe it will sell like crap (3 - 5K index)...

yeah I remembered she was up against Kanjani8's Sukiyanen, Osaka/Oh! Enka/Mugendai on that day & that was nerve wrecking & moral of the story's NEVER EVER go up against a Johnny at all

I hope Rule / Sparkle's sales wouldn't flag that much in days to come

There are people that like the music of Sparkle, just not so much the lyrics. The Boystachi and girlstachi part seems to be an especially annoying spot. There are some complaints though that the song sounds too much like a recent Madonna song.

Atm Rule isn't doing that bad, but it isn't dominating the charts like Days used to.

Decent sales for a single with an album coming out in less than a month of it's release. Not expecting numbers from Days/Green (which had a lot going for it - promotion, 2 PVs, christmas release) but anything near 100k in the first week is going to be pretty good.

^Todays numbers according to 2ch. Big drop for Ayu, but could have been even worse. Flumpool actually had a sales raise - tough to do these days.

well that's ok xD she didn't go from 20 to 4 xD But the drop is indeed big

btw this is the prediction of Rule/Sparkle sales based on Days/GREEN sales

it seems very likely though the index for today seems better, so it might even sell better (as she sold 62 607 copies for now)

which means it will most likey sell over 100k during the 2nd week, of course this is just a prediction.

Well, we have to accept the fact that avex's sales pattern is like this nowadays: first day index is always big (because of first day release, preorder, FC special, etc.).

I think ayu is doing fine rite now. I kinda think it's 80% safe to say she'll get another weekly no. 1.

^ Wow that is such a cool graph

I can't believe flumpool increased by 1k index! D: And ayu dropped by like half.

I donīt understand why people say that Days was such a big hit (at least the impression I get from your comments), but I perceived it as a standar Ayu hit. Was Days/GREEN that good at the end?

Yeah, hopefully the index won't be below 6k tomorrow. I doubt it can sell more than 95k this week, which is still very good.

@hpg23 = Days was a ballad that people can easily relate to. It was one of the biggest hits this winter (or so it seems), it did great both digitally and physically. It was simply a song that suited the taste of Japanese casual listeners.

Let's say in this way. Probly Days/GREEN isn't a super big hit in the end, but definitely it's something we haven't seen from ayu sales for a quite long time. Just looking at the physical sales probly doesn't tell much, because I believe that nowadays only hardcore fans buy physical cds (especially for singles). Most casual buyers just purchase digital formats.

So now let's look at ayu's digital sales... well she's never a big digital seller. I think she didn't conquer the iTune charts after (m)u. Of course she may get daily no. 1 on digital chart on the first day, but most of the time she may just fall back to top 10.

When Days released JUST as ringtones, somehow it shows general public were interested. She did get longer no. 1 on ringtone/RBT/movie charts. She stayed on top 3 in overall download chart for a few weeks. When the full song was released, it helped her to stay on overall weekly no. 1 for a week at least. This hasn't happened for quite a long time for ayu. And Days did manage to get monthly no. 2 in the end.

So I do believe that Days was quite a hit back in x'mas time .
