Good idea for a thread!

I've tried out Blonde Redhead and found out that I'm completely in love It's like Shoegaze/triphop-ish (not good at describing genres!)

I wanted to listen to some relaxing piano music one night and I let Spotify choose for me. I ended up discovering Ólafur Arnalds. Omg. Such amazing melodies. In Fyrsta for example, it's just this soothing, wonderful melody and you can hear the slight creacking of the wood of the piano as he plays. It creates the most wonderful atmosphere, it just can't be described.

I've started getting into Gossip lately. Some people may remember them from Heavy Cross, which was pretty big some time ago. Their new album A Joyful Noise is pretty decent, especially Perfect World and Move In The Right Direction(perfect single choices)

Lately, I've been trying out Ai Otsuka. Needless to say? Her first album is not the way to get into her music.

Is she still popular?
I borrowed her "HOLIDAYS IN THE SUN" album and it's alright. I have other albums, but they're sub-par imo. I don't understand the buzz. To be honest, she feels like a sub-par ayaka. ayaka has some songs where she just belts, and I love that.

^ I was really into YUI a few years back. I loved her albums From Me to You and I Loved Yesterday. There's a few songs I like in Can't Buy My Love too. But she starts to sound same-ish after a while, there's only a few songs I can enjoy listening to as a unique track. The rest just kind of fade into one long, guitar song for me. I didn't really listen to her last two albums much, nothing stuck with me.

^ I agree 100%...I used to be a pretty big fan of her (just look at my username haha). But imo her music has just gotten monotonous & generic-sounding honestly. It's too bad, cuz I really liked her at one point.

Here lately I've been listening to an artist named Florrie. She's got some good jams .

LOL so much 'anti' YUI. She's cute, but I don't really like any of her songs.

I'm still trying out Ai Otsuka.. I do like a few of her ballads, and one REALLY NICE jazzy song on Love Letter.

They're not bad at all!

And Namie Amuro again. Her new album isn't half bad.

bump bump

okay...Long Post! New peoples since I last posted. And some other people should listen to.

Familjen...because

Veronica Maggio, more pop chica from Sweden. I prefer her first album, but the second one has catchier songs.

I finally discovered The Knife lol

And from yesterday...

I think people here might like itsue. Their album was recommended on Jpopsuki, it's not bad at all. She's got a nice voice. Their music is rock oriented, and...a little depressing for me actually lol Might be just right up some people's alley.

SingerSen. I don't know if people have quite spammed the hell out of her everywhere yet, but it needs to happen, because holy***buckets she's awesome. Cables was my favorite song for a bit, but now it's Drunk.

omg she owns my life right now. She covered heartbeats by The Knife. Just found out...

Anyways...

Ceng Yan. She kinda reminds me of Sen + Faye Wong + Cocco. Probably because I have no other frame of reference. But. Her voice is pretty, and the music is gorgeous. She has some interesting, interesting blends of sounds. Haunting and beautiful.

Looks like I might have to upload her to youtube myself.

MIIII - some random pop/R&B Korean chica. She has A LOT of ballads on her one album. Her voice is nice. Honestly, I'm not huge on ballads. My favorite off the album is the one studio acoustic guitar live. It's also one of the upbeat songs.

elintseeker - If you like super ambient music. They have some interesting electronic blends and a very "still" sound. Some tracks have "vocals" and some don't. I really like it though. If you like ethereal ambient music, or experimental electronic stuff, check them out.

Apparently he's from Singapore. Interesting. Very artistic.

SleepStalker. I don't even know what to say lol

And...this isn't new. But my playlist keeps hitting it, and it puts me in one of the best moods. So I'm just gonna leave it here. By LAMA.

And And. I just stole this link from pommy~ I likes teh dark musik. Zhong Chi:

Let's see...also stole from pommy...the ACIDMAN

Thank you pomegranate

Petra Marklund is the vocalist of the Swedish "group" September, and I've never really been hugely into September's music. I'm kind of fond of her new solo album though. Lots of great songs on it, although I'd wished for more variety.

Loreen, the winner of 2012's Eurovision Song Contest has one or two songs I really liked, but I never listened to her music other than when it was on the radio. I'm giving her new album a go, and there are so really good tracks on it, although it has even less variety than I'd feared. This song is the opening track, and one of the best on her new album 'Heal' imo. The part at around 2:53 is just beautiful.

Moto boy. Can't believe I didn't discover this guy earlier. His music reminds me of a fusion of Coldplay and The Smiths. Beautiful, soothing. Gave him a try and I wasn't dissapointed. Goosebumps. You MUST listen to this, please.

Niyaz is so good! I haven't been able to get into Ali's solo stuff, but Nine Heavens is glorious and I am obsessed with Parishaan at the moment <3~
