Good to see her in the top to spots, though. I hope it stays on top for the rest of the week.
Utada United 2006 debuted at #4. Ayu has always topped the DVD charts or at least landed at #2. I dunno why people are acting up. So immature

^ Lol, not for good. I like Hikki because her music is so unique - only she can make that style of music and make it well. Just like Ayu - she just has this certain persona and as far as uniqueness (it used to be her ballads were better than everyone's and not boring), her rock songs are the best out there.

Glad to see how things are charting!

It seems like Ayu's ahead by a bit in the usual online stores.

I'm surprised that the Blu-ray isn't selling as well as I thought it would, but it seems like her only competition when it comes to Blu-rays is the Harry Potter movie which ranks above the DVD version of AT10, but that's expected.

hikki's WILD LIFE is #3, shear happiness!
1-2's the way to go...WHOA! I forgot that Utada's even releasing her WILD LIFE "final concert" DVD on the same day... (Blu-ray's later next month, May 18.)

Oh please, don't make another "ayUtada" rivalry (Ayu vs. Utada) like what happened ten years ago...

By the way, with the fact that the RnRC tour release is released in both DVD and Blu-ray at the same time (when it wasn't supposed to, had the earthquake not happened!), are the DVD and Blu-ray sales combined in general?

No, oricon's chart is only for DVDs without blu-rays

It's only the first day. Hikki could easily outsell Ayu on the other days, just saying.

Hikki's not a bad performer, IMO. She's not in Ayu's level, that's for sure.
I'm just happy to see that Ayu and Hikki are in the top 3. The true queens of J-Pop haven't lost their shine.

And to people who are saying Hikki is fading. Total crap.
Singles Collection Vol. 2 sold more than Love songs, and it only had 4 new songs. And Hikki's known more for really high digital sales. This is coming from a hardcore Hikki fan (more than Ayu).

Sorry for the rant, but some people are getting way too ahead of themselves.

I do think she is a pretty bad performer... u need to be a fan before watching her live...

but still, if she is fading, I don't wanna even imagine what's happening to Ayu...

It sold better BECAUSE it had few new songs. In case you haven't noticed: Best-Ofs generally sell better than studio albums released at the same point of one's career. A COMPLETE sold MUCH more than GUILTY and NEXT LEVEL and it was released in the middle between them, both A BEST 2 sold better than Secret, A BEST is Ayu's bestselling albums by far.
Best ofs are what casual fans buy just as much as hardcore fans while normal studio albums are bought more by hardcore fans.

u cant compare betwen best album with studio album
coz in japan best album tend to sell higher than studio album
hikki often beatin ayu sales but there was a time when ayu outselling hikki too just like in annual single chart in 2002..
they are having different taste in concert
ayu tends to perform all outs n energizing..
while hikki tends to focus on her vocal ability n musician style..
but hikki voice was horrible in wild life...
