ayu's relationship to Mika Noguchi
some time ago ayu had her first interview where she spoke half english with an american woman, i believe. and the last question was "do you have an idol?" and ayu said "my mother! because she always worked so hard so i could have a good life" or something along these lines.
after watching he interview, i posted the question here if ayu made up with her mother, because she didn' really care all to much about ayu. it doesn't make sense to me. nowadays i see Mika Noguchi more often on pictures, where she is colled "mama" or something. maybe ayu refered also in the interview to mika? |

They're really good friends.
Mika Noguchi is not Ayumi's mother. Any interviews where Ayumi refers to Mika as "mama" will note that she is not a relative but the CEO of PeachJohn. It seems to be a running joke between the two of them because Mika has referred to Ayu as her "daughter" in her blog. |

wtf~
this joke is so awesome.. normally such things are really annoying me.. but this one is just amazing.. well.. we all know that she is not lesbian.. let's wuit off-topic: i think the two are really really close friends for a long time now.. i don't know more about the two.. but i think for ayu she is like a "mama"..

I think Mika explained their relationship in a blog last month...something along the lines of this:
Ayu was super stressed out one day and ended up leaving her staff and all of them so she could have some alone time. She found Mika (or vise-versa; I'm not sure if they met previous to then), and Ayu poured her heart out to her. Mika said something along the lines of "it's okay, it'll be alright" and Ayu felt better and went back to her staff. And they've been great buddies since. From what I've heard, the "Dearest" lyrics are inspired by that one event...

But why would she be talking about her real mother if they weren't really on good terms before? I'm glad someone asked this question because I was quite puzzled when ayu said that comment in her interview. o.o

Well she says "my mom" in the interview, and she calls Mika mama.. if she was referring to Mika she would probably have said "my mama".

ANYWAYS getting back to the original topic...
Perhaps Ayu has realized why her mother was so distant about certain things - so that she can learn to take care of herself. A Song for XX was an album showing her anguish as a child, but lately none of her songs (since....LOVEppears/Duty!) have focused on her childhood. It is possible that they have reconciled (maybe after her Mother read A Song for XX). Ayu's mother was a single parent working to support Ayu and her own mother (who passed away when Ayu was recording poker face) so she had very little time to nurture her since she had to bring food to the table and a roof over their heads. And Ayu did not write Dearest for Mika, that was for Tomoya Nagase. Mika and Ayu's relation seemed to have sprang up over the past year x.x. |

I was also really surprised when ayu mentioned her mother as her "idol".
Quote:
And I doubt "Dearest" is about Nagase. Because "but sadly people are able to forget" is something that would be said after a parting.

That's what I was trying to say... I guess I used wrong wording/grammar. -_-;
What I wanted to say is: There are many single parents out there who work hard, but still can nurture her children. Come to school when there's a problem etc. So being a working single parent isn't an excuse for not scolding or praising a child.
