I absolutely love this song, and have had the new acoustic version on repeat since it came out. The lyrics at the end however completely stump me. I'm talking about what the back up singers are singing, and then what Ayu joins in to sing for the last line. To me, some of it sounds like "........ Every promise is, every moment is, ........... for my life." That's all I have any idea about. Does anyone know what they are actually saying?

Personally...

"Every cardinal sins, every immoral things..." Or whatever that line is, I can't make it out.

However, I was watching a live performance of it (from A museum, to be exact) and the line "But I wanted only keep my love" seems to make sense. I'm watching her mouth, really, and she seems to be forming B's and K's clearly. I'm not saying she 100% surely is, that's just what I see lol.

The last line sounds (and looks) like she's saying "But I was holding on for my love," but I actually can't tell if it's "on for my love" or "out for my love". Plus, I can't see her mouth because her microphone gets in the way. The backup singers sound like they're saying "on", but, again, it's so hard to tell. Their accents really make it all the more difficult to hear AND see.

I personally think kirei_ayumi's translation is rather accurate:

Nevertherless, it's rather difficult to decipher the text.

Summa Theologica enumerates the seven capital vices (cardinal sins) as:
vainglory (pride), envy, anger, sloth, covetousness, gluttony, lust

The seven virtues:
Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, Temperance (Cardinal Virtues)
Faith, Hope, Charity (Theological Virtues)

Note though the word "Charity"
(Latin => "Caritas", Greek => "Agape")

"Charity" now means simply what used to be called "alms"-that is, giving to the poor. Originally it had a much wider meaning. (You can see how it got the modern sense. If a man has "charity," giving to the poor is one of the most obvious things he does, and so people came to talk as if that were the whole of charity. (C.S. Lewis)

One very famous sentence is this:

or
"And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity."

Notice how similar the above sentence is to the lines in forgiveness:
"But I want to only keep my love"
"But I was holding on for my love"

That is, instead of "keep my love", perhaps another way to think of this is
"abide in love" or "remain in charity"

And if this is what ayumi's song is about, then surely "forgiveness" is a fantastic title.
