Do you care about Chart Rankings?

Of course I like to see Ayu do well for herself on the charts, but it doesn't affect my listening to her, I love her no matter what.

I care for the artists I really love. Like Olivia, Anna Tsuchiya, The Brilliant Green, High and Mighty Color etc. I care for them because IMO they are insanely underrated and deserve to do well.

With Ayumi Hamasaki? I don't care if she bombs in the charts. She has done well enough for herself already and made her mark. She doesn't really need to prove anything anymore.

Low/high sales don't affect my opinion of the artists themselves though.

i don't really care. it's nice when she does well, but i hate when she doesn't and people seem to like her less because of it. ranking and sales figures aren't necessarily the same thing. Just because something charts well doesn't mean it's sales are that great. It just means it's sales are better than the sales of other releases, which can be a little misleading. and the ranking and sales figures don't dictate to me how i feel about an album or single.

I wish there was a third in-the-middle option. It's great to hear about a #1 or good sales, but I don't really keep track of them beyond that. Her sales have slipped in recent years, but I'm still loving her music.

As long as she keeps making music and does well enough to get money for high quality PVs/covers/etc, it's good.

Personally, I don't care.

Everyone is different and will have different opinions on whatever Ayu does. I like to take the time a watch and/or listen to make my own opinion on the product itself. I won't stop buying Ayu's products just because she's not high on the charts.

Though, I guess it's great to hear when Ayu reaches #1~

Personally I'll listen to her music whether she sells great or not, but I do hope for her to do well on the charts since she puts a lot of hard work in her songs. It would be sad for Ayu if she tried so hard but failed to chart.

Seriously though, if her #1 streak is broken, it won't be the end of the world for me. It's nice to see that my favorite artist is, literally, number one in her country, but she's always going to be number one in my heart.
