GAME and alterna?
Okay. Here's a random question that has bugged me for a few days.
I know that INSPIRE is the title of the single but on the cover, it says INSPIRE c/w GAME. And for fairyland's case, the obi says that it's fairyland c/w alterna. So my question is. Are GAME and alterna both A-sides or are they both B-sides?

my guess Jia Rong that GAME & alterna served as B-sides for both the INSPIRE & fairyland singles & it's just so happened that GAME & alterna gotten PVs of their own .
If it's a double a side issue , then it would have been printed on the single sleeve as INSPIRE / GAME , fairyland/alterna instead

Both GAME and alterna are a-side songs.

According to wikippn though, c/w is usually used for B-sides that don't appear on future albums.

Yeah, so...
They could technically be termed as either, right?

oh thanks for that..wish it didn't get unstickied, there just need to be one mega big sticky thread with all these FAQ of ayu's songs, like the songs not on an album, the ones that are re-sung, etc..

to me I guess GAME & alterna are counted as A-sides if it's stated INSPIRE / GAME , fairyland / alterna on the single tracklist then

I guess so,
I've always thought of those two songs as B-sides. Even though they're both amazing songs.

but the b-sides alterna and GAME.. they appeared on an album! which contradicts the definition of b-sides on wikippn.

^ True, but wasn't "Will" classified as a B-side and it appeared on an album. Or is "Will" the only B-side to ever do so?

^In ayus case if a B-side has an instrumental on the single, it will make it onto the album.
If this isn't the case, it will stay a B-side: Two of us, ever free, theme of a-nation '03.

Sorry for asking this very silly question, but,
What's A-Side and B-Side? Please humor me~ |

A-side and B-side originally referred to the two sides of 7 inch vinyl records on which singles were released beginning in the 1950s. The terms have come to refer to the types of song conventionally placed on each side of the record, with the A-side being the featured song (the one that the record producer hopes will receive radio airplay and become a "hit"), while the B-side, or flipside, is a secondary song that often does not appear on the artist's LP.
