Tokyohive - NEWS announce their first single of 2016

NEWS have announced that they will release their new single "Hikari no Shizuku / Touch" on January 20th.

One of the title tracks "Hikari no Shizuku" has been picked up as the theme song for Fuji TV's upcoming drama "Kasa wo Motanai Aritachi". This drama will be based on member Kato Shigeaki's short story of the same title. It will star Kato Shigeaki, Kiryama Renn, Sakata Masanobu Adachi Rika, Watanabe Mai, Takeda Rena, Minamisawa Nao, and Raita Ryu.

"Hikari no Shizuku" is described as a support song for young people who are troubled or hesitant. Meanwhile, "Touch" is said to be a pop number.

The single's limited edition will be released in a "Hikari no Shizuku version" and a "Touch version". Each version will come with a DVD containing each title track's PV and making footage. There will also be a regular edition that will include two additional tracks, "Hoshi no Tabibitotachi" and "whis・per".

They were the 2nd last artiste to perform even though they took part in a special V6 medley at the beginning of the show

I was surprised they did Hikari no Shizuku as I was expecting they will do Yonjuushi but the song itself is nice . It's a mid tempo ballad & hopefully the full version will be good

Maybe that's why NEWS did Hikari no Shizuku earlier on 2015 FNS Kayousai THE LIVE . I think they're ok , kinda reminds me of KAT-TUN's DON'T U EVER STOP & ARASHI's GUTS! but less messy & less passport photo inspired LOL

Arama Japan - NEWS announces double A-side single "Hikari no Shizuku/ Touch"

NEWS’ first single release in 2016 is a double A-side single titled Hikari no Shizuku/ Touch. “Hikari no Shizuku” is a support song that gently shines a light on the troubles and doubts of young people, whereas “Touch” is a light, pop love song. Both songs show NEWS’ refined “classic style”. The single will be released on January 20.

“Hikari no Shizuku” will be used as the theme song of the upcoming Fuji TV drama “Kasa wo Motanai Aritachi wa”. The drama is based on the short story collection novel of the same name written by member Kato Shigeaki and will star Kiriyama Renn, Sakata Masanobu, Adachi Rika, Watanabe Mai, Takeda Rena, Minamisawa Nao, Raita Ryu, and including Kato Shigeaki himself. The drama will have four episodes and will air on January 9, 16, 23 and 30 (Saturdays, 23:40 – 24: 05).

avex Taiwan has made both DVDs editions of Yonjuushi which will be released on Christmas (since it's not a public holiday in Taiwan , just like in Japan)

I'm currently watching the Johnnys Countdown online

NEWS covered ARASHI's Monster while in return , ARASHI sang NEWS Nippon which was such a cool thing to do

Real glad that the Johnnys Countdown is back on live TV broadcast once more :3

Also , in the Top 5 duets you wish to see that viewers voted , #3 is Shuuji to Akira which both KAT-TUN's Kame & Yamapi (he was a surprise guest) sang Seishun Amigo again which was amazing

Shuuji to Akira , ftw & it was so good to see Yamapi briefly during the Johnnys Countdown as he wasn't confirmed to be on the show in the 1st place
