My thoughts exactly + that's my fave part of the album as well.

Am I the only one who really likes ESM and TNL?
I just love how they're so different.

Love 'em too !

And I think that call/Letter are really similar to Last Links (maybe because of the guitars...)

^ I sure for the type of music they are they are great.
I font like that kind of music, so they are horrible to me.
Her voice is decent, but the music is just...
BLAH!

I will say, it might be better as a show... watching her on DVD might make me love the song because those types of songs are supposed to tell a story... thats why they are part of shows... just a song by itself is horrible.

Hardly.

I like the songs a lot. They aren't my faves as imo nothing comes close to reminds me and Return Road, but I like that Ayu gave it a try. And ESM is just awesome live!

There's 11 days left till the release of this mini album “LOVE”. And, for the PVs...I think...they might air it on TV as a short versions, again. No doubt about it

Also,
I hope...there's a huge promotion for this mini album!

You mean 18 days?
And wasn't it so that the PVs for FIVE and Party Queen were never released in "short versions", but in full? In any case, I also hope that there will be good promotion for this album, I want to see more of Ayu!

Ah it's gonna be out before we know it! I still can't get a real feel for the songs from the live rips. I can't wait to hear HQ studio versions!

Call and letter being akin to MY STORY is weird to me.

For me, those songs are more of the tradition that she brought along during the Secret-Guilty phase, and just kept up...having these sort of acoustic-y songs.

Like Life or last links. You see them every now and again. Of course the songs don't really sound the same...but they have that simple rock flavor, and for me, Melody is probably going to fit in with them too...but I guess we'll see.

And seriously, these short versions, or youtube versions can gtfo. Youtube version for You and Me was awful.

I adore those tracks. I can't agree with people saying the midsection is Ayu by the numbers, I think surprise and reinvention is really what Ayumi is about, while songs like call and Letter are nice and all, but really just Ayumi playing it safe in songs that focus on lyrical expression. TNL and ESM will always stay in my memory as musical career highlights, I know many people disagree, but I live for those songs!

I don't think so. I noticed that, while the midsection of the album tends to be the favorite part for Ayu fans, every single casual listener I made listen to the album liked the other sections more(while usually still pointing out Return Road and reminds me as great tracks though, it's just Tell Me Why, call and Letter that people tend to ignore). Of course that is in no way a sample big enough to get to objective conclusions, but it did make me think. It seems to have to do with expectation and alienation really. People that go into "Party Queen" not knowing Ayumi yet seem to think about it VERY differently from long-term fans.

Tell me why is one of my favorites! Maybe you're right, I just know that I don't like them at all.

Very interesting though, about long-term fans and new fans different perceptions of certain releases.

Personally, I enjoy it. I'd say 7.5/10. I think ya gotta understand the whole concept behind PQ to appreciate it more though.
