Do As Infinity’s new single, “Ariadne no ito” (on sale September 7th), has been chosen as the theme song of the upcoming drama, “Team Batista 3 – Ariadne no dangan“. This marks their 8th song chosen as a drama’s theme, and the first in 8 years to be used in a drama since 2003’s “Koibumi ~Watashitachi ga aishita otoko~” (TBS).

Do As Infinity’s female counterpart Van Tomiko commented, “I hope that as you listen to our song, you will feel the willpower that is so necessary in today’s world, just like the main character who faces trials [in the drama]“.

"The song was created around the show’s theme of ’sprinting and pulsing’, and it contains the message of ‘believing in myself and pushing ahead’. We wanted it to be an inspiring song”, Van commented. Ito added, “There’s a cliffhanger at the end of each episode, and with this song playing, I think it will heighten the excitement and tension. Ever since I received a copy of the song, I’ve been listening to it every day to get a boost of energy!”

Kansai TV producer Toyofuku Yoko explained, “This season of the show will have brand new mysteries that you haven’t seen on other shows. Because of that, we wanted to choose a theme song that differs from every other ballad out there. An energetic and driving sound is perfect for the show. We wanted honest lyrics but also a cool sound, so we asked Do As Infinity to contribute”.

OH MY GOD THOSE COVERS I LOVE So colorful and funny. Although they would definitely fit in a children's activity book under the "spot five differences between these pictures" department.

They don't seem to have anything to do with the title song though... It's catchy, kick-ass rock song and certainly doesn't make me think "Mary Poppins" like the covers do. But whatever, I like the covers (even if only for the lol-factor) and Ariadne no Ito sounds VERY promising, so I'm definitely looking forward to the new single.

^ I agree, their recent works are great. Chikai was beautiful and Ariadne no Ito also sounds great from the preview. I hope its b-side is also on par with the other recent stuff!

And a new single is coming already! It's to be called Tasogare (黄昏) and is out on October 16th. No other info as of yet.

Also, Ariadne no Ito was great. I think this is a really good year for Do As Infinity.

^Yah, and already indeed. x_x It's barely been a week since we got Ariadne no Ito. Tasogare will apparently be an ending for the same game(?) as Chikai: Sengoku Basara.

Just checked Oricon. If I'm not badly mistaken, Ariadne sold 6733 copies and got the 16th position on the weeklies. I think it deserved better but world's not always fair. :/

I think they're in such a 'single releasing marathon' mood
The title read as 'Tasogare' which means 'twilight' and it's another tie-in with BASARA game series, this time the song will be ending theme of Sengoku BASARA 3 Utage for PS3 and Wii
'Tasogare' is said to be a song about sorrow and loneliness feelings but still continue to move on and want to become stronger, so I guess it will be a ballad or sad song

Also a good news, DoAs will revive their fans club soon
Yay for Dive At It, die for my wallet! lol
