Today's throwback - "Ever Since" by Sayaka. I remember when the single came out in 2002 and I was so in love with it, and amazed that such a young girl could write these lyrics. She had a few singles at a slow pace after, but it wasn't until 2005 that her first album came out. Obviously born into music royalty being Seiko Matsuda's daughter seemed like it would set her up for a huge career, but the drama surrounding her romantic relationship and fall-out with her mother seemed to overshadow it.

Sadly she was found dead at a hotel in 2021.
