The Sweet Escape Tour Announcement

The Sweet Escape Tour presented by Verizon kicks off this April 22nd at Coors Amphitheatre in San Diego, California, and concludes on June 23rd at Irvine, California’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

Joining Gwen on tour is the platinum-selling singer Akon, who also sings on and produced the new single “The Sweet Escape.” Rounding out the bill is Britsh MC Lady Sovereign.

"I'm excited to have this opportunity to tour with Akon and Lady Sovereign, two original artists that I have so much respect for" Gwen said. "I can’t wait to get out there. This show is going to be spectacular!"

Tickets for The Sweet Escape Tour go on sale nationwide Saturday, February 10th. Fans can buy tickets at www.livenation.com, www.ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster retail locations nationwide.

I'd definitely go when she comes here which organisers have reported is highly possible.

Sales this week was crappier with none of the top 10 exceeding 70k. Her 2nd single is surely climbing charts though, it shot up the digital track chart.

LOL, that is soo... undescribable. Gwen's been living in the UK long enough to know the general consensus on that "girl". I wonder if she's on the same label. I read today that she's signed to a U.S label now. Ick.

I'm actually kinda dissapointed. Is it going to be a U.S. only tour again? I dunno about the rest of Europe but she could definately sell out venues in the UK.

Then I'm the only one who loves and absolutely adores that wig. Wow, she doesn't look like she gave birth at all. That final picture was amazing.

By the way, The Sweet Escape finally premiered on Malaysian TV today. ;D Right after Corinne Bailey Rae's brand new video, back to back. Both videos were STUNNING OMG.

I can't wait to see her live. While as a vocalist she's all over the place, she's at least a fantastic performer. Rock concerts are still her forte, but I think she'll put together a great show since she has more material to work with. As for the openers, I'm looking forward to Akon, but I'll die of death if Lady Sovereign is at the Toronto show- which she unfortunately is. Stankin' little nasty. For her last tour, weren't Ciara and MIA her openers? I'd much rather have them back.

The wig is delicious by the way, I used to hate it but it really grew on me.

For an American, you seem to be pretty ignorant of singles, Norrel.

The video will be an enhanced feature. Have you ever bought a single before? When you pop it into a computer, it looks super cool. The whole screen changes and stuff and it usually looks amazing.

I doubt it's a US single, it's probably an European/Australian single, since the US did away with physical singles since they got downloads. Lame.

I collect them by the way, since they aren't common in parts of the world.

I can't wait to get this single. I'm sure the flash menu stuff is going to be fricking amazing.
