the album is a huge disappointment, imo. I only liked about two tracks, sadly.

I've canceled my pre-order =x

personally i think Hard Candy beat COADF in term of more new try and more variation type of music, unlike COADF juz dancefloor/clubbin/disco music...

* Beat Goes On/ Dance 2night
= dancefloor music with "bell bell"

* Devil Wouldn't Recognize You
= JT style song? the melody remind me JT's "Cry me a river"

* Voices
= reinvention of her oldies style? Sorry/ Secret/ Human Nature/ Frozen/ Erotica/ Rain

* Give It 2 Me/ Heartbeat/ She's Not Me/ Incredible
= song produced by Pharrell Williams, similarities, all song have suddenly/surprised/unexpected breakdown in the middle

* Miles Away
= 3 layer evolution: cowboy (guitar) > live (clapping) > club (electric music)

* Spanish Lesson
= title say it all, Spanish-licious

* 4 Minutes
= everyone know, "feat. timbaland" style all the way

* Candy Shop
= bored music (for me) make u more focus on lyrics, the true meaning of Hard Candy

compare 2 E=MC2, thx god, less rap in madonna album, thx god....

Sadly...I agree. I think I'm just going to download a copy, I'm not sure. I was really excited to buy it and everything, but I was really let down. I'm not really sure if I should still buy it. I'm completely on the fence.

Well I'll definitely be buying the album. I couldn't rate the tracks individually yet since I don't think I've listened to them nearly enough for them to grow. But as it stands, it's certainly much more original than E=MC2 and I'm sure it will only grow with time.

Agreed. This album is an epic failure of American Life proportions for me. I'm definitely not buying it anymore.

It's definitely a grower guys. I was not fond of many things I heard at first but now I can't get enough of Hard Candy.

Yeah, whatchu talkin' bout boy? That album was one of her best. If you aren't really a Madonna fan (which is just how it appears, for all I know you could love her, but I doubt it), I don't see why you would expect to like the album.

American Life and Music are the only two Madge albums that I can't stand. The only thing from AL I liked was "Love Profusion" and maaaaaaybe "Hollywood." Everything before those two albums was just aces, though. This one just doesn't feel like genuine Madonna to me. It all seems very forced, it's really turning me off. I think some of the tracks on Hard Candy might grow on me ("Miles Away" and "Devil") but I doubt I'll ever like it as much as her previous works.

Madonna headlining BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Kent

Maidstone witnesses the phenomenon that is the most successful female artist in the world. Madonna, the "Queen of Pop", dishes out a taste of Hard Candy.

The lineup
Madonna will be one of the performers on Saturday, May 10th.
Other performers (who will perform on Saturday) include: The Fratellis, Usher, Scouting For Girls, Duffy, The Feeling, Robyn and The Hoosiers.
Sunday's performers: Goldfrapp, Nelly, The Kooks, The Enemy, OneRepublic, Adele, Newton Faulkner and The Pigeon Detectives.

How to get tickets?
Registration for Radio 1's Big Weekend in Maidstone has now opened - you have until 10 am on Monday 28 April to apply for tickets in our ticket ballot.

Registering will also automatically enter you into Radio 1's Big Golden Ticket competition - unless you tell us you would prefer to opt out.

The ticket ballot will be the primary way in which tickets are given away for the event and you will be asked which day you would like to attend during registration. Those who are successful will receive a pair of tickets for their chosen day. We always give preference to local residents, so tickets in the general ballot are allocated randomly, but weighted in favour of those living in Maidstone, Kent and the surrounding areas- a smaller amount will be distributed nationally.

You can register for tickets here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend/2008/tickets/

Find more infos at BBC's web page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend/2008/

Olympia show to be broadcasted by NRJ TV Paris

Local TV channel NRJ Paris (canal 23 TNT) will broadcast the Madonna gig to be held on May 6th at the l'Olympia. It will be a live broadcast from 9 pm local time. Unfortunately the show will not be broadcasted internationally on popular NRJ radio.

Funny thing is, Kent and Olympia are both names of cities in my state as well. I grew up in a town called Kent actually.

YOU'RE ON THE WRONG CONTINENT M!

the album's definitely more mainstream than Confessions. i wasn't liking what i was listening to at first, but i do think it's a grower. it's nothing like her couple previous albums with euro-dance tracks, it's pure American pop. i guess that's what needs getting used to (for me at least).

i didn't like "Heartbeat" when i was listening to the leaks yesterday, but now i'm really fond of it for some odd reason, lol.

I really enjoyed Music and American Life. Those were my first Madonna albums that I ever bought.
