I do remember an article saying she is top female while Koda is second quite a while ago...they said she had earned about 3.5 million US this year...

Relying on numbers alone, the best-selling artist of the year is without a doubt Mr. Children (based on singles and albums only and not counting 2006 releases). Koda Kumi is not even close.

Ayu probably earned more because of her tour and various endorsements.

I'm really surprised. Her albums didn't even make it that high in the charts. Well, she wasn't at the top. And her singles either.... I'm guessing her tour helped that! I'm happy for her. After 10 years, she still manages to be the best selling artist!

Her album sales rised from 600,000 to 700,000 with A BEST 2 -WHITE- and almost -BLACK- and the album was really expensive so ^-^.
