^True. I wonder if Namie is getting a cut of the goods sales. I think it’s great that they’re keeping her somewhat relevant without her having to do anything new in person. Like it’s kind of weird but nice at the same time.

I don't skip it but to me the holy trinity of _genic is Photogenic, Golden Touch and B WHO I WANT 2 B, which I used to hate but actually turned into my entry into SOPHIE's music lol

I’ve been listening to _genic on repeat for the last 4 days. It still blows my mind how Namie created the perfect album. I was reading the wiki page and that she chose these songs out of 100s of demos based on her first impression of them. She just gets it

As much as I lover her, I still think _genic is rather _generic in a way. I love everything she ever put out and I rarely complain. I love Space Invader, Fly, It, Birthday and BWIW2B among other songs, hell I think the album is pretty listenable but nothing outstanding if you now what I mean. It's not like "yeah remember her, her best album is called _genic. It a milestone in music".

^ Totally agreed. It took me a while to really like the album, and I used to just call it _generic because it just seemed to lack any distinguishing Namie characteristics...other than being catchy, up-tempo songs. FEEL was far superior, in my opinion.

^same. I think _genic and Style are my least favorite of her original albums (not sure if Finally counts as an original). There are songs I really like on those albums, but I tend to skip most tracks from them unless I’m intentionally listening to the album all the way through. So far I think _genic is the only Namie album I don’t own.

If she could have had the better pronunciation of _genic and the musical style of FEEL, then that would have been amazing.

I think Uncontrolled is my least favorite from her second wave just from being exposed to all the single tracks already.

Honestly I would have appreciated Uncontrolled as an album so much more if she left the singles alone instead of including the English versions

FEEL remains her magnum opus in the neo-Namie era imo. Damn that album is AMAZING. It still feels so damn fresh even after so many years.
