for the UK, I would reccomend the beatles lol.... seeing how I'm from the US though, I can't say that, or Black Sabbath.... or AC/DC.... man, my country's music sucks. well, at least the modern music sucks I love anything thats rock from 95 and before. of course, I should take that back, it's on a case by case basis.... I hate glam rock...

Actually AC/DC is from Austrailia. There are lots of great American bands, you just have to know where to look. There is:

Dream Theater, Tool, Symphony X, Queensryche, Spock's Beard, and Fates Warning just to name a few. Of course the only ones of those you will see on eMpTyV is Tool and maybe occaisionaly Queensryche. Practically none of them get radio play. But the American progressive rock/metal scene is full of awesome bands. Of course it helps if you like songs that usually clock in at over 10 minutes in length.
