Get the party started in the first official SuG thread♪

Quote:
SuG is a young visual/oshare kei band from Japan. Their band-concept is “Heavy Positive Rock”. SuG was formed in October 2006 by Takeru (vocal), masato (guitar), yuji (guitar) and Shouta (bass). One month later, drummer MITSURU joined the band. In the beginning of 2007, they began their activites, but Shouta decided to leave the band. Shouta was soon replaced by their current bassist Chiyu. The band’s first release “7th Breeze” was featured on the compilation album “CANNONBALL vol. 3” in Japan. After being on tour through Japan under the spring and early summer, the band were signed to PS Company. Their first single came in August, titled “Scheat”. One month later, they released their following single “Alterna.”. In the end of 2007, besides releasing their first mini-album “I SCREAM PARTY” on December 19th, they held their first concert outside Japan on “J-ROCK INVASION EPISODE I”-festival in Germany on December 29th. On May 14th 2008 their debut full-album “n0iZ stAr” was released in co-operation with Bellwood Records. Their second mini-album “Punkitsch” was released September 3rd 2008. On April 16th 2009, the day after the bands new single release “39GalaxyZ”, drummer MITSURU announced that he’s leaving the band because of differences in musical opinions. MITSURU is having his last live with the band on the oneman live show ☆★☆BL⇔Rock Party MonstAr☆★☆ on May 9th 2009 at Shibuya O-EAST.

Band Name

Spoiler:
The name "SuG" is derived from the transliteration of the English word "thug", written in Japanese as Sagu (サグ). The name is then simplified to the slightly more romantic "Sug." Therefore SuG is pronounced as sagu.

The reason I've started up a SuG thread is because obviously I'm a fan of the band and have been since LOVE SCREAM PARTY, but also to see if there are any other SuG fans or listeners hanging around, and it also gives me and Love Shine somewhere to talk without using her download thread. If not, I please urge you to at least try the band. Maybe a just few PVs, and please tell me what you think. I could always upload their discography if you would like. You don't really have to be a big JRock fan to get into this band. They're pretty cute.

One word of warning: Takeru is mine! :3

It's hard to give a recommendation because being a fan I will literally say all. X3 I'd say start with LOVE SCREAM PARTY which is the song/PV that really got them promoted and known about. Their album is also awesome, so I strongly recommend the album because it has many different sounds. Oh, and my favourite PV is butterfly BoY so you should definetly watch it!

When you give them a listen JackieRos you should tell me what you think!

I'm not sure whether I should pre-order the BEATROCK LOVE DVD. >-< But it has Takeru and I would probably end up watching it just for him, even if I like the storyline of it.

This is one band/group where who I really can't decide who I like more. They are all lovable for different reasons.

SuG is great, my favourite Oshare Kei band with AnCafe!
I try to get I SCREAM PARTY with DVD and I already found it, but it's so expensive, because it's so rare.

Nice first post!^^

Exactly! I love Takeru for his happy-go-lucky persona, Chiyu has the bad boy attitude, masato is the super pretty boy and yuji, hmm yuji, he's quite fun and lately he's been looking buff. X3

Hey Corvina! The more SuG fans the merrier! I would love to own the LOVE SCREAM PARTY CD+DVD, but it is really expensive.

I really want to see Shinpei and how he's going to look. I know he's only support drummer for the moment but it will be interesting to see how they've SuG-ed his style up. I'm going to have to look for pictures and keep watching their blogs.

I saw a picture of Shin with his old band. Their style is quite different from SuG's. This will be interesting. And he can't go for the pretty look, like he had with his old band. Masato has that roll.

Yuji is just a goof. And I love him for it.

I doubt he'd work the strong sexy look like MITSURU did either! They updated the pictures on their official website. It's their 39GalaxyZ outfits, but everything to do with MITSURU isn't there.

And the goods section is being updated. I wonder what new goods they'll have! I really want the photo sets, the phone charm and the MALKO MALKA x SuG shirts.

SuG! <3 Love them. They're first 2 singles were amazing. x_X I didn't really like the mini album I Scream Party though. Only liked Love Scream Party. The full album was great.

I hope they'll get a new permanent member soon. =(

The album is amazing, isn't it Spiral. I seriously love it. CRIMSON SODA is the best track ever!

Oh, Here's Shin's Homepage. So far he's only drumming for the lives.

I've been stalking the boys ameblogs and I love some of the things they post sometimes. X3

Takeru posts the greatest pictures. I have favourites. This is a serious wtf one, a great drawing of him, Spidermaaaan noodles, seriously hot picture of 'dark Takeru', technooo, Takeru's birthday message in jumbled Engrish, worst shirt on Takeru ever D:, and his nails are always so lovely. Even Lady GaGa has been mentioned in Takeru's blog. I find that pretty cool~

In other things! I want this phone strap and these badges so bad D:

Has anyone seen Takeru without make-up on? It's quite... interesting. Just like LM.C's Maya without make-up XD. These men and their girlishness.

For me it's the other way round, I love I SCREAM PARTY but I'm not too fond of their first album nOiZ stAr. And that's the only release I have, even first press. XD

I have the nOiZ stAr album, CD+DVD. Actually, I didn't know there was an extra bit at the end of the PV until I watched it all the way through. X3

I can't remember if I've seen Takeru without make-up. I see so many J-Rockers without make-up these days.

Ohh! Live report on ☆★☆BL⇔Rock Party MonstAr☆★☆ on May 9th 2009 at Shibuya O-EAST. SuG shows always sound so fun! It's so sad when you read about how sad MITSURU got when he was saying bye.

^Aw, that's so sad.

If you Google Takeru, there is a picture of him with out make-up on. I think these guys use more airbrush than fashion mags

Oh yeah! Oshare Kei guys are highly airbrushed all the time.

Pictures of Takeru from his band before SuG, Dizzy×Glow.

I also really love Takeru's tattoo!

^That is a really nice tattoo! What did his old band sound like? I'm guessing that they weren't all that popular.

I've never heard his old band. There's no music anywhere so they must not have really released anything and just done session playing.

I found a really sweet Takeru quote though!

"No matter what the country, no matter how far away we are, all our fans are important to us, so we're going to make you happy."

Awwwwww~ :3

And Takeru in KERA, July issue.

Look at that hair! *-* and that jacket is so snazzy. Cute socks too. X3

A small bit too. I love that shirt. It's so awesome!
