[Charts+sales] A BEST 2 -- THREAD II

WHITE No. 8 and BLACK NO. 9... That's not surprising.. What shocking me the most are

1) Mr. Children's HOME sales indicator is 139008... If that times 1.6 or 1.8, the first day sales is like 220 to 250K.. I suppose it will be the year no. 1 (currently)..
2) Kuu's Bounce and Lovers indicator is only 29508 @@.. That's really low consider kuu's popularity... it's like 45 - 55K copies being sold. I know this album is limited (350K rite?), but I thought at least 1/3 of them should be sold on the first day...

Anywayz.. I hope WHITE will jump back to top 5 tomorrow or so..

Looks like everyone is selling really low.

yeah except Mr. Children. If first day sales = about 50% of the weekly sales, it implies HOME may break 500K on the first week.

I understand that Mika's YES may be selling quite low (since her popularity decreases compared to MUSIC era).. but kuu.. I'm just very surprised by the outcome..

I did not know about Mika's popularity, what is MUSIC era ?
I thought Nana has been a good boost for Mika even if this album has nothing about Nana, not rock album but a ballad gospel album. Quite original I think.

oh.. Mika's last album --> MUSIC.

and I dun think NANA would help Mika that much considering low sales of both NANA/REIRA singles + not much hype of the movie during last year. NANA 1 was a big hit but NANA 2 wasn't. (wait you're in Japan now rite? Was NANA 2 a hit or not?? I didn't hear much news from it compared to NANA 1..)

Anywayz.. I just hope that there will be 50K for each BLACK and WHITE.. you know, lots of people buying other albums and they won't have much money left for A BEST 2 this week.. .

considering the popularity of ayu in asia area,
the sales of ayu's albums of ORICON only can tell us her popularity in japan, not asia

they dont know how much her album could sale in china or singapore....

I find it unfortunate that they only show indicators for the top 3, and not the whole list... But I guess A Best 2 will go up again, most of the new albums (that are not in top 3), usually drop a few places through the week.

But, both A Best 2 reached 500K+, which is 1+ Million
Go Ayu! (but Mr. Children has always been strong anyway)

What? I thought Kuu would be #1, didn't know Mr.Children was releasing on the same day.

I hope the 2 A BEST 2 stay in the top 10 at least!

I guess the sales for A BEST 2 might be doubled if sales from Asia and the rest of the countries are added in.^^

hahahaha.... no.... really; don't overestimate the non-japanese sales.. they really don't change much. we're talking about 10,000s rather than 100,000s

let's use A BEST sales as an example.. about 4.3 million copies sold in Japan and 5 million copies worldwide... that means only 0.7 mil copies being sold outside japan. Remind that the cd sales were still quite good during 2001..

now back to 2007.. i dun really think A BEST 2 would be sold over 0.8 mil copies outside Japan rite at this moment... it would be lucky if 200K being sold in asia during these two weeks..

but u need to realize that back then when a best was released, she didnt have as much fan in asia compared to now.. a lot of people outside japan only started to listen to her after teh release of a best (u can search for some threads here that prove that)..n i know that if ayu were to hold an asia tour back then, i doubt that the tickets would be selling as hot as it has now.. so yea, i think her oversea's sales contribute a lot! like it matters

One of their songs from their latest 'HOME' album is pretty good. It's called 'Shirushi'.

Back in the old days ayu + hikki were really popular in chinese places. I remember that when A BEST was release, arond 0.4 to 0.5 million copies were sold in Taiwan after 2 to 3 months, and the battles between hikki and ayu created lots of fights in those chinese forums/newsgroups. In 2002, when ayu visited HK it created quite a chaos in traffic. Therefore, we can't underestimate ayu's power back in the old days .
