Guitar part in "Akane Sasu Kiro Terasaredo..."

this is an enquiry for the guitar players amongst you ^^
I learned how to play the electric guitar, but I have no idea of playing an acoustic guitar at all.

but then I heard the guitar part in "Akane Sasu Kiro Terasaredo..." by Shiina Ringo (for reference I uploaded it on YSI: Song )
it is best to make out in the solo at approx. 2:15
a similar style is played in the soundtrack for the game Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (cure the princess level) unfortunately I dont have this particular song.

I dont need you to explain to me how to play this exactly, it would be enough if you could tell me the name of this style (if ther is any).
that way I could research for it myself
I realize that this is actually just some dead notes and cropped down chords, but this sounds just so distinct, that I thought it might be an own style
