Well considering it's a re-release with little reason to purchase, I'm not that surprised it's performing poorly. However, I thought Japan was crazy for these 'BEST' type albums regardless so I was expecting at least top 5 :/

^ They are, that's why A BEST had been slaying the digital sales for over 2 years... a re-release of an album so many people already have is a different thing though.

It's fine, I really don't have expectations about this release on the charts, it's a spacial re-release, it's not really something made to sell thousands of copies...

You're right. It's honestly a collector's thing. I don't think anyone intended this to be something the general public would desperately want to have. However, I don't think the 28.3 release date was smart. People probably think it's not out until tomorrow.

I wish they had made 2 deluxe editions for DVD and Blu-Ray individually rather than one high priced deluxe edition with both a DVD and Blu-Ray which makes no sense.

Agree and it feels odd avex packaged both the DVD & Blu-ray together as compared to her studio albums where they were sold separately

If you have both a DVD & Blu-ray players then it's different though

Anyway I'm not expecting A BEST -15th Anniversary Edition- to break new ground and sell a lot of copies . I just thought it's strange for Oricon to count a few days earlier than the release date

Cheaper/easier/logistically to make one premium edition than two different SKU's.
Same happened with the Wagakki Band Live Premium Set (2 Blu-Ray, 3DVD, 2 CD)

I see a lot more going this way. Every DVD that is sold, will also sell a Blu-Ray (vice-versa) and when you are printing a certain amount the cost is negligible.
It's similar to a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack.

This album is definitely a collector's item for true fans so it's not realistic to expect high sales.

Remember A BEST sold more than 4 million copies back in 2001 so most of her casual fans already own a copy and they are not willing to spend money just for remastered songs. People who want to get the CD can either download it in Recochoku or even go to a second-hand retail store and grab a copy for ¥500...

If it manages to sell more than 10k I think it's fair enough.

That's my main issue with this release... I really don't want that DVD >_<

avex should have included a pair of unreleased songs or rare demos.

This is weird.... I walked past TSUTAYA yesterday 3.27 and I couldn't find the album but they have it on sale today 3.28 so I think the chart reflects like... Basically the few people
Who somehow found the albu hidden somewhere

Yea why are people surprised that a lazy rehash of old material is performing poorly on the charts?

EDIT: Because A BEST was released on 28.3.2001... This is such a dumb idea though. Just put it out on 3/23 and call it an anniversary.
KAT-TUN just released their 10th anniversary best album on that date (3/23).

The charts didn't only include sales from a few shops that were selling the album beforehand, I'm pretty sure they also included all the preorders. So I don't expect sales to suddenly jump after the actual day of release.
