You mean while watching it at the venue? Because for us who are watching the DVD / Blu-ray or broadcast version is really noticeable. I mean, big part of her pre-recorded instrumental tracks for these shows aren't the CD, but made with a band in a studio, but we can really feel the difference in sound when it's played when the band is on the venue. The energy is totally different.

^ yeah, the difference on energy is clear, also the sound of a live electric guitar and drums is quite unbeatable

Yup! Ayu's band always put some "stank" on her tracks especially the rock instrumentations.

I never liked the band thing they tend to mess up lot of songs that are not meant to be played by a live band

^ hey that's cool!
i hope you guys that are actually attending the shows have plenty of fun there, enjoy like crazy, something tells me that maybe this is indeed one of the last if not her final tour itself and it kills me the fact that by now i can't go

It is not her final tour! You will have the chance to see her on tour on later years

Please expand upon that thought.

Right now I own pretty much all of Ayu's live tours and CDL on disc as released by Avex, and I've watched each at least twice. *Never* have I thought Ayu's band missed a beat, missed their cue, came in at the wrong time or created something I didn't have an appreciation for. If there's anything that ever comes off sounding wrong, we can start with Ayu's vocals. But that's a completely separate story (which I won't get into here).

Having a live band presents a great opportunity to have new arrangements or putting a new spin on a classic and I much, *much* prefer to have a band than having everything pre-recorded. Where's the talent showcase there?

There are concerts that sound *exactly* like studio albums. I don't think that's what people go to concerts for.

^ I second that! Her band always performed greatly and always added up to the shows.

Btw, Rosalia's most recent tour received bad judgement by the media for not having a band on stage, even though the show itself is fantastic, she plays the piano, dances like crazy, performs expressively, but a band is a band... She answered saying that her work is more eletronic-oriented these days and a band wouldn't fit, but I disagree, even having enjoyed watching her concert and after putting it in my top 5 shows of Lollapalooza Brazil, I strongly believe that a band would bring much more energy and appeal to her concert. Pop acts who indeed have a band on stage are usually praised for it.

You can record a different arrangement and playback it.
My problem with the band was that it didn't sound live.

So a pre-recorded arrangement sounds more 'live' to you than a live band?

I didn't say that. Probably there wouldn't be much difference.
I could enjoy the live instruments at some artists club performances, you could clearly hear the difference, but at Ayu shows I've never had that feeling.
I might be wrong though, gotta experience her show without the band.

^

I've watched the 25th anniversary live this weekend and no complaints about the band, drums and electric guitars are meant to be heard live, anyways, i think you should watch her concerts again and give the band special attention and then again what a no-band concert to see the difference in energy and vibe
