WHY AYUMI CRIED

FIRST, the girl was whispering into J-pop queen Ayumi Hamasaki's ears. Then, tears rolled down Ayumi's doll-like face. It happened during her handshake session with fans in Taiwan recently. The Taiwanese media quickly pounced on the girl who had made Ayumi cry. What did she say? Apparently, it was touching words pledging her support for Ayumi's romance with Tokio's lead singer, Tomoya Nagase, and that she has the fans' blessings to get married now'. Word has it that Ayumi has been yearning to tie the knot, and it probably means a lot to her that her fans understand. However, she didn't even shed a tear at the damage' done to her credit card while she was in Taiwan.

In less than 24 hours, she had splurged an estimated RM100,000! Her shopping spree began the moment she reached the Regent Hotel.

She made a beeline for the Christian Dior boutique inside and snapped up a wallet and a sexy spaghetti-strap top. Next stop was Cartier, where she bought two bracelets of the same design - one in gold and the other, white gold - for a total of RM50,000. No thanks to her spree, she arrived an hour late for her Press conference and meet-the-fans session. But when the series of media interviews ended close to midnight, Ayumi hit the shops again. This time, she went to a teahouse to buy tea leaves and pastries. Then, before flying back to Japan at noon the next day, she bought two pairs of Chanel sunglasses and two Hermes bags. Grace and charms of oolong tea.
