Well seeing as Namie is #2 for me atm, hehe I can easily say Namie beats Kumi by miles and im sorry for all the Kuu fans but Namie is simply better all the way, no need to argue this point!!

namie namie namie! she's so hot... and her music such as "NO" is just... incomparable... that's my all-time fave hip-hop song.
koda kumi looks like the typical japanese decent girl... nothing special about her features... and same goes for her music. a majority of them sound the same with that indian sound... *yawns*

^ I noticed the thing about the recycled indian sound as well. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I must admit though that the indian sound does sound pretty fresh, but if she keeps doing it, then it will get old and boring.

could you point out examples of the recycled Indian sound? I can't hear it in any of Kuu's R&B works. I definately hear it in WMWM though.

I think the obvious choices would be Shake It and Candy. Sorry, I don't know the names of the instruments, but I think there is also a touch of it in Juicy. Those are the ones off the top of my head.

I always thought of Candy as Arabic, not Indian, but i suppose there isn't that big fo a difference.

I guess Candy and Get It On have that mid-eastern feel. And Shake It too, kinda. Heat possibly. It's got that weird 'squeaky' instrument.

Namie is J-urban perfection
Koda ain't got nothing, she's just some crazy song-pooping machine haha
she has a good voice, but her songs have been becoming worse and worse
i haven't even listened to her new single, and i don't plan to
namie on the other hand, i didn't really like at first
but RIGHT when i heard Hide & Seek
i thought "hol' crap this girl is amazing"
and then i see her live dancing AND singing almost flawlessly
and listening to her music pre-hip-pop
realizing how drastic of a musical change namie made, and how she's perfected r&b music in just a short matter of time
it's amazing

but now i'm the complete opposite haha

LOL I read what kingofpop said =D I so agree Ayu is better than kumi. anyways kumi isnt even doing so well this year >_> in my opinion ayu is doing better due to the fact that she released less and almost tied =x. Anyways XD I voted for namie amuro XD I use to hate Hip hop until I heard her music XD Plus I think Namies dancing looks a lot better than kumis.

i think namie is better in J-urban...i guess its cuz she's really committed to the genre, unlike Koda Kumi. But namie's voice seems to be perfect for the genre too.

As much as I love Koda (I also love Namie), I choose for Namie, I think Namie has better songs. She has a better style of music.
