J-Pop (despite the fact that a majority of Japanese artists that I like release monotonous music now)
K-Pop (2nd favorite) Never been a fan of C-Pop and never will be.

Jpop - Ayu, YUI, BoA, Amuro, Otsuka, AKB48, Kana Nishino, Hikki, Hitomi Yaida...
Kpop - SNSD, TaeTiSeo, 2NE1, BoA (prefer her jpop-stuff). Other than that, is basically a couple of songs here and there from different artists/bands. Cpop - I love Deserts Chang and the band S.H.E has some nice songs, but other than that... :/ |

I've been a huge fan of J-Pop for over a decade now. Ayu, Koda, Namie, BoA, Utada!, and of course - my staples: KOKIA, RURUTIA, lecca and a few others.
But I am often more excited for C-Pop releases now. On average, I don't like as many songs on C-Pop albums, but the tracks I do like are consistently addictive. Like Angela Chang's 5th Season album... I'm still absolutely in love with Di Wu Ji (5th Season) and Bai Bai De (White) even 8 years later. They still have the same magic. I can't say the same for a lot of J-Pop. And then there's aMEI and Jolin Tsai and Elva Hsiao. There just aren't J-Pop or K-Pop equivalents to those artists. BoA comes close, and Koda and Namie are great, but I think C-Pop's divas have a certain spark for me right now that I haven't seen in J-Pop artists since 2010. And maybe it's because idol groups are where all the attention has been, whereas Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China still have certain solo icons that get a ton of attention. And maybe part of my love for C-Pop is that they take a lot of the work ethic of Asian music and pair it with more western styles that I'm familiar with, so I feel like I get to see how artists who work much harder than the average American musician-- like aMEI-- would do American music.

I listen to mostly J-Pop even though I discovered K-Pop first.
I am kinda drifting away from K-Pop and I only listen to few C-pop artists.
