Recommend some artists/groups to me please?

I have been stuck in a music stagnance when it comes to the artists I listen to. I essentially only listen to the "big 3" of Jpop, but they hardly make new music anymore (I guess KK is a bit of an exception).

Can anyone recommend some similar style artists for me to try, maybe some songs or an album too?

I listen to Ayu, KK and Namie primarily. (Ayu and KK the most).

I have occasionally listened to Utada, but she doesnt sync with me as much as the others.

Thanks in advance!

You want actual jpop divas ?? Oh man, they are all gone. I can think of some popular female soloists, but I don't consider them divas, Aimer, LISA, Chanmina, Uru, for groups NiziU maybe.

I'm lost too

I'm totally unfamiliar with new Jpop (contrary to Kpop), that genre kinda died when Namie retired I'll be checking out this thread in case someone recommends something interesting.

- Ayaka
- BENI
- Kato Miliyah
- JUJU
- MISIA
- Nakashima Mika

All of them have been around for a long time but I don't know if you will like their music

When I 1st got into Japanese music years ago , 1 of the things I did very early on which I'm so glad I did was to branch out & not just stick solely with female solo acts

That's why up to now , I never felt bored listening to Japanese music cos there're so many musicians in Japan who create music in so many different music styles

Those who always say they feel supposedly stuck in always listening to the same artiste / artistes , just go & broaden your music options

You never know

I'd recommend some tracks by Tamaki Nami - Reason, Heroine, Missing you.
Kotoko, she has a number of good upbeat songs.
Aikawa Nanase is a legend if you like jrock - try Koigokoro (great music video btw), Loving you, In the heat of the night, Yumemiru Shoujo Ja Irarenai.
Kou Shibasaki - Wasurenagusa.
Kuraki Mai - Time after time.

I'm old school, sorry.

There's a lot of interesting new Jpop still as well, though different styles are much more popular and divas like Ayu imo are even rarer now than they used to be. (Of course, she was always unique.) Have you ever explored any Kpop?

Old school is the best and nothing can beat that. Thanks for your suggestions.
If you have more suggestions, please do share them with me I love songs from 80's, 90's and early 2000's.

I guess I share your musical tastes - I could've started that thread exactly the same way you did: I like Ayu, Namie and KK, and have given Hikaru Utada more than a fair chance but she does absolutely nothing for me.

I also tried to branch out but nothing grabs me like either of these 3 have.

Crystal Kay is still active and drops great singles here and there. "Gimme Some" from a year ago is a banger:

I'm in love with the song called "Jewelry" by LE SSERAFIM. It's a japanese song composed by IMASE.
