The real star is that makeup. This 90's chola realness, no shame, I love it.

I'm also here for more music.

For those who are still interested in some Lana news. She has recorded a new song for the movie "Age of Adaline", starring Blake Lively and Michiel Huisman. The song is called Life is Beautiful.

It's good, however.. the snippet does not do much for me. It sounds a bit like Bel Air meets Old Money.

Just popping in to say that I've only ever heard one song of hers: Gods and Monsters. And that's because Jessica Lange covered it on American Horror Story.

...I just Jessica's version much better. lol

I must say that I am not too crazy about Gods and Monsters. But she got some masterpieces also you might have heard from. Like Young & Beautiful (recorded for the Great Gatsby) and people are also familair with Ride, Summertime Sadness, Blue Jeans and Born To Die. I think not a lot of people love Lana instantly, but the music needs to grow on you.

I can remember I started to love Lana when I saw the video for National Anthem, I thought she was really cool and I loved the style (references to JFK and Marilyn Monroe. My goodness, that girl was clever) So yea, I think I love Lana for her style and not necessarily for the music (even though she has really great gems) Give her a shot, don't stuck at Gods and Monsters

Lana Del Rey's music is incredibly tough to get into if you're not into the type of music she does. But my first song was Born to Die and I just loved everything about that song and its music video. But Born to Die is the easier album to digest. Paradise and Ultraviolence are a little harder to digest if you're just getting into her music, especially the latter album.

She's been teasing us with snippets on instagram with video.... Its exactly what I expected from hearing those. Its pretty depressing, more of a grower, but after listening to it a few times already, I'm pretty much in love with it.

I love the instrumental it has something grand and epic about it the lyrics are nice too, but I hope the whole album won't be as "sad" as ultraviolence again and have some "sassy-sounding" songs like off to the races in it.
Edit: I'm glad she is even in the business still considering she wanted to quit after the first album as "she had already said what she wanted to say and told all the stories she wanted to tell" (sounds familiar lol)

^Yeah that was BS. Four releases in four years. Not that I'm complaining.

She performed a few of the new songs live and they definitely sound more BTD than anything. Sans the title track... I still love it though. I've always liked Lana's noir tracks. Kicks in the synesthesia.

Very pretty song but extremely underwhelming. I wasn't a big fan of the psychedelic rock thing she had going on for Ultraviolence so this is a nice change. Hope the new album has more of a Born to Die sound to it. I need another Dark Paradise.

I think Ultraviolence is her masterpiece, the record flows beautifully.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very beautiful record haha. It's just a little too slow and somber for me.

That's my thought too. It's too dull.

I loved both BTD and Ultraviolence though, so as long as she delivers with the album I'll be happy haha

Same. I would have never ever in a million years expected a shoe-gazey/desert rock album from her and if she never does it again that's fine.

I was in Paris when the album was being promoted. It was cool seeing her face all through the metro.

Honeymoon wasn't BORING but it was basically the ultimate lullaby. I usually joke with my friends and say that Lana only sings lullabies (even though I legitimately liked 3-4 songs off of Ultraviolence and 1-2 off of Born To Die) but this song just shows that I'm onto something. This isn't a kids lullaby though, it's for adults. But I can seriously see her singing rock a bye baby and putting kids to sleep.

I like both albums but I think they give off a different vibe. But good to hear that other new songs are more born to die-ish I LIVE for that album
